Good news. We really need the secondary to step up this year. Hopefully now that Allens only playing CB he can settle in and be more comfortable. He needs to really step up, and Cam/ Capers appear to be making it easier for him to do so.

im so happy saban is gone. i think are secondary will be alot better this year, hopefully allen can step up.

So God helped Jason Allen not his renewed hunger? Just not sure why the article had to get all religious.

So the D likes the defense more streamlined and straightforward. Sounds good to me. It appears they did not care too much for all of the yelling and overdramatization from Saban. One wonders if sometimes Saban was over thinking things and somteimes outsmarting his own self when he was running this team.

This is good news!!! I like the following comments:

Miami is still using the same system Saban installed when he became head coach three years ago. And it's still as complex as ever with multiple blitz packages coming out of 3-4 and 4-3 fronts.

But under defensive coordinator Dom Capers, who worked with Saban last season, the defense will confuse opponents -- not those playing it.

"Last year, there were a lot of things in there that were kind of confusing to us," safety Yeremiah Bell said. "Different terminology, I'd say. Like last year, we had several words that meant the same thing.

It was kind of confusing, because in certain defenses you'd say one thing and guys would think another.

read/react >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> overthinking/flat-footed

props to Capers

to saban's credit making him play safety sped up his learning

to Caper's credit the defense is the same, just easier to communicate

win/win

Good to hear they simplified things in the defensive secondary.....sometimes coaches think making things complicated makes things better. I am so happy Saban is gone....sounds like the players are a lot happier too. :)
