Anyone have any idea how many times two backs from the same team have run for 1,000 yards in the same season? And who those tandems were?

Please, no guesses. If anyone can provide a link to factual info, I'd love you forever!!

Mercury Morris and Larry Csonka. I believe were the first tandem.

two RB with 1000 yards or more inthe same team and that team is the MIAMI DOLPHINS??

I SAYS YEEES

I believe Ernest Byner and Kevin Mack were the last duo to do it in the mid 80's with the Browns. Morris and Csonka did it too. Did Roger Craig do it with someone? I think his record was 1000 yards rushing and receiving.

1972 Miami Dolphins:

Larry Csonka: 1,117 yds
Mercury Morris: 1,000 yds

1976 Pittsburgh Steelers:

Franco Harris: 1,128 yds
Rocky Bleier: 1,036 yds

1985 Cleveland Browns:

Earnest Byner: 1002 yds
Kevin Mack: 1,104 yds

so is that it? just those 3?

I just saw that in 2005, the Broncos were damn close.

Mike Anderson ran 1,014 and Tatum Bell ran for 921. If Ron Dayne didn't steal 270 yards, they would have gotten.

yep.

Csonka, the Hall of Fame fullback, led the Dolphins in rushing with 1,117 yards on 213 carries and scored 6 TDs. Meanwhile, Morris rushed for an even 1,000 yards and scored a then-club record 12 touchdowns. By doing so, Csonka and Morris became the first set of runners from the same team to rush for 1,000 yards in the same season.

That feat has been accomplished just two other times – Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1976; and the Cleveland Browns’ Kevin Mack and Earnest Byner in 1985.

Harper never rushed for 1,000 yds although he was close in '78- he was only 8 yards away.

Oh, and Kick added another 500 yards the same season Csonka and Morris ran for a 1000.

i think the jets came pretty close a couple of years ago with curtis martin and lamont jordan. thank god they have jones now cause he is terrible
