I know it is asking a lot for a rookie OC to come in and man up, but he was one of the better OC in the draft:

STRENGTHS: Tall, barrel-chested center with surprising mobility. Good initial quickness off the ball. Can turn and seal off defenders in the running game, creating effective lanes. Gets a quick punch on his opponent and slides well laterally to contain in pass protection. Good lateral agility and surprising straight-line speed to block at the second level, showing above average change of direction to adjust to moving targets. Also an effective short-yardage run blocker due to good leg drive and determination. Reliable in the shotgun and traditional snapping. Tough and durable. Started the final 51 games of his collegiate career. Good bloodlines. Brother Cody played defensive tackle at Southern Utah and is now with the Baltimore Ravens. WEAKNESSES: Bit top-heavy and may possess shorter-than-ideal arms as too often strong defensive tackles are able to slip free from his blocks. Average knee bend and can get himself in trouble when he tires and bends at the waist, losing ground to bull rushers and leaving himself vulnerable to swim moves over the top. Missed all but the first two games of the 2009 season with a knee injury. COMPARES TO: Jonathan Goodwin, 49ers: Like the 49ers' standout, Larsen is a physical, battle-tested pivot with the size and light feet to handle playing guard in a pinch. --Rob Rang

Can this team ever catch a break! Every time I think we are on the way to improvement, we seem to inevitably take two steps back.

He did well against Aaron Donald during the senior bowl who I had as one of the best players in the draft.

Don't you just know this undrafted kid is happy for this chance ! I'm cheering for him. Pouncey is getting on my nerves.

behind garner and brenner

He is going to replace Pouncey...I hope he seizes the opportunity. Benton will make a player out of him.

hey if u want a look at larsen utah states bowl game is replaying on espnu 730 am tomorrow...i set the dvr to take another look...fast forward thru everything else in the game ha ha...

All we can do is hope for the best, but can you imagine if the opening day OL, vs the pats, is Albert, Thomas, Larsen, Turner, and James?? That would be 3 rookies and a 2nd year guy that didn't start a game as a rookie. Might be prudent to get Ryan fitted for a full body cast before the season even starts. Lauren might want to get all her luv'n soon, he might be too sore to touch after the season starts.

I'm a Gator Grad and I still live in Gainesville.

I never liked the Pounceys or the other punks Urban Meyer allowed to run our football team.

"Larsen has been Aggies' starter at center for the past three seasons and was a First-Team All-WAC selection as a sophomore and junior. He tied for the team lead with an 86 percent overall grade in 2012. Utah State actually evaluated him as carrying out the correct assignment on 97 percent of his snaps with four games at 100 percent. Larsen has some power to his game and could be a nice fit in a man-blocking system."

This kid stood out at the senior bowl and while losing Pouncey is not good......it may give a Tyler Larsen a chance to shine.....we will see.

Larsen has T-Rex arms which is a recipe for failure as an NFL O-lineman.

Larsen's arms were measured at the combine at 31 1/2, while Pouncey's were listed at 32 1/4. Do you really think that 3/4 of an inch would have made that big of a difference?

31 1/2 is very short, comparing him to Pouncey is offering anecdotal evidence.

IDGAF how long or short someone's arms are, if they can play they can play. Unless their arms are 14 inches long.

so arm length has no effect on how OL can play? I don't subscribe to that at all. I guess you think all the heart in the world will overcome a DT with 34 inch arms.
