The Combine is the first chance for teams to meet with potential prospects and grill them on all things football. One of the most intriguing prospects at this year's Combine, former Penn State tight end Tyler Warren, confirmed that he met with the Dolphins during the event.

Warren called it a "fun meeting" and called Miami head coach Mike McDaniel a "smart offensive mind." Warren is the top tight end in this year's draft class, and it isn't close. The only question is not if he will go in round one, but if he will fall out of the top 10.

The Dolphins should have an interest in adding him. He is a game-changing player who can block, run, and make incredible catches with great hands. Pairing him with Jonnu Smith would take Miami's offense to another level.

Wouldn't be finheaven draft season if there wasn't a thread about drafting a TE in round one.

And we have been through this so many times. The value isn't there for TE. Outside of Bowers the top TEs drafted in round one are NEVER worth their investment.

Too much of a luxury pick, not an impactful position and tight end has a pretty deep class in this draft.

No thanks.
It is wild people think you should draft a Y-TE 13th overall. He is not going to be a plus blocker as a rookie. Nor is he going to see 170 targets like he did at Penn State last year. Beyond that, McDaniel has never featured a Y-TE in our offense the last 3 years. Unless he dramatically overhauls things, I don’t see the value to adding a position we can draft day 2 or early day 3.

We need to build the OL or front 7. Campbell, Membou, Banks, Grant, Harmon, Williams, etc. are the guys we should be looking at. If we can’t protect Tua and stop the run/rush the QB we are not going to be a playoff contender.

At some point you have to accept this team has had a bad OL under Grier (only looking at the most recent GM) because we refuse to draft players. Two 1st round picks (Tunsil and Jackson) and three 2nd round picks (Hunt, Eichenberg and Paul) in 9 drafts is wild. Mind you we only drafted 2 IDL (Wilkins and Davis) and 3 EDGE (Harris, Phillips and Robinson) in that time as well.

Yup with you 100%. Trenches or bust no exceptions really.

Membou, Banks, Grant, Nolan are my picks if not trade down. Have to look into Harmon apparently people love him here haven’t spent much time looking into him as I thought he was a 20-25 range guy but those 4 are must selects if there in that order.

If we are trading back then maybe I can see a less impactful position like TE or safety/corner if we are picking up a 2nd or so but no chance at 13

99%..... if Tet falls to 13, I'm sprinting the card up there

What's even more wild is that you think the Dolphins are going to select a guard with their first pick.

Guard is the second most impactful position in Miamis offense, it fixes both our run game and deep passing issue and makes the offense a guaranteed top 10 unit. We also just saw the most successful team of this decade franchise tag their guard for 23 million so I guess we can throw out the old myth that it’s not a valuable position.

Unless you’re arguing that Miami is so incompetent that they are likely to ignore the above and draft something stupid, then yes maybe you have a point.

Warren is probably the only offensive player in round one, who would move me off defense.

Campbell, at offensive tackle, might as well.

Love Tyler Warren but other needs far outweigh taking him early, sorry to say. Plus, as others have pointed out, there are some nice tight ends out there. Very nice tight ends. Hubba.
