Last year - 0-11
This year - 8-3. 2 games to go (Conference Championship and Bowl)

Let me just be the first to say in this thread: SCREW the big three in FL, it was all about UCF on Saturday.

Brandon Marshall put UCF up for good against Rice, capturing a Conference USA East Crown and an auto-berth in the Championship game around 6 pm yesterday!

Then just a few hours later, what we all hoped for came true.

Alabama-Birmingham upset #24 UTEP, giving the Golden Knights an opportunity to HOST the Conference USA Championship game.

If UCF wins the Conference Championship game on December 3rd, they will likely be headed to Memphis for the Autozone Liberty Bowl on New Year's Eve!

Let's also not forget that virtually this whole team comes back next year, as it is currently one of the youngest rosters in the country. IT loses 2 tight ends, a WR, and some defensive linemen. Meanwhile, it returns all the tailbacks, all QBs, all O-linemen, all of the LBing corps, and the whole secondary.

We'll be around next year too ;)

actually its the BIG 4 in Florida as the only school in Florida who is going to a BCS bowl is SOUTH FLORIDA! lol

And what a joke for the BCS that would be. Just another reason why the Big East doesn't deserve an auto-bid. Not to mention that USF has to go through WVU first.

Let's all put this in perspective here. No team achieved more with less than UCF this year. UM, FSU, and especially UF (in the eyes of the Urbanites) underachieved massively. There's no doubt that UCF is the feel-good story of the state. It's a shame that Coach O'Leary and the Knights don't get the proper exposure because of the turnarounds of larger programs like Penn State, South Carolina, and other bigger name schools. George O'Leary should be coach of the year. To saythe team he was left with had no talent when he came in would be an extreme understatement.

well, Coker, Bowden and Myer just lost some more talent to them....

Amen to that. Im praying South Florida wins the Big East. When their contract expires in 2007, the BCS committee is going to haveto take a GOOD look at the current BCS situation and think if they want teams like South Florida in the BCS series at the end of the year on a regular basis.

There are a lot of people who think USF will be able to beat WVU. USF would have the tiebreaker head to head advantage with both teams having 1 conference loss.

Having a 3 loss team in the BCS is a flat out joke for the BCS. Figure a team like Oregon, Auburn, Georgia, Miami, etc will be left out for a possible 3 loss team in USF. :shakeno:

His problem was he didnt do it with a bigger school. JoePa at PSU, (even though he does nothing IMO), and Charlie Weis at ND have a better chance than O'Leary because they made turn arounds with big name schools.

Because the media gets such boners from Notre Dame, I wouldnt be shocked if Charlie Weis won it.

It's irrelevant if he did it with a bigger school. You are dealt equal pieces with your conference mates more or less. UCF is battling to get talent on par with other C-USA schools, like Southern Miss and UTEP, etc....UF battles other schools for better talent against other SEC schools. It's all relative.

From worst to first baby! Go UCF football! I'll be there December 3rd to watch the Golden Knights win the championship against either UTEP or Tulsa.

Wait.......we just post a stat how the ACC is 1-6 in BCS Bowl games, and you want to throw the Big East out?

The joke IS/WAS the ACC, they had to raid another conference to become "decent". This is why you don't throw anyone out of it, yet open it up to everyone.

The MOUNTIAN WEST has as many wins in BCS bowls as the ACC does the past 7 years!

The BCS is going to end after the next contract not because of the Big East or South Florida, but because of the SEC. The SEC has been screwed over more than any other conference and they are gonna pull out. The SEC is the strongest conference when it comes to political power and pull. Don't be shocked to see the ACC, SEC, and SUGAR BOWL cut a deal much like the Rose Bowl Pac 10/Big 10 and tell everyone to go F' themselves.

Everyone thinks we are heading towards a playoff, in fact its the opposite. We are heading back to the days where each school and conference will be cutting their own deals with indiviual bowls.

Very true. I wouldnt be suprised to see it go that way either. This is going to be another year where the SEC gets snubbed. Figure Notre Dame gets an at large and for some strange reason I see Ohio State getting the other at large. OSU has been playing very well since the PSU loss so I think they get the other at large bid. Auburn is going to be the odd team out this year if all teams that SHOULD win their conference championships do.

Also this year the Sugar Bowl gets the last remaining team, so LSU might have the pleasure of whipping up on the Big East champ in the Sugar Bowl. This should be another year the SEC gets the short stick. Either LSU is going to sneak into the Rose Bowl if Texas or USC goes down and their SOS is enough to pass Penn State (with Georgia coming up, it might be possible), or else they are going to get the worst BCS game.

You are so right!
