yeah, he had that triangle in at the end of round 2, but Hughes wasnt in the right position to make it effective. i didnt think Hughes was in danger of being choked out, and Hughes admitted after the fight that the arm bar could have ended it before the choke would have.

you are right, Penn had nothing left after that and could barely even hold his hands up in round 3.

McCarthy let it go longer than i would have thought. Penn ate about 30 punches.

what was the deal with David Louaso??? he didnt even look like the same fighter ive seen lately. Swick is good, but he even seeemd to outmuscle "the Crow" and you can tell from their builds that should not be happening. maybe his cardio wasnt where it needed to be.

Decent PPV tonight. UFC needs a big show on 10/10 though.

Should get a decent rating on free TV.........but in a move which could be a stroke of brilliance. Vince McMahon to counter program UFC that night is taking all of his "DIVAS" and giving them a 2 hour special playing STRIP POKER. Leading into a 3rd hour of ECW.

I'm actually rooting for both UFC and TNA to start getting bigger ratings. Then maybe the WWE will put out a better product.

TNA's ratings have hit the floor. They have sunk to bringin in Vince Russo now to write.

That show is about a year from being taken off the air.

UFC is only PPV buys, does no tv ratings. The ultimate fighter that is on now is tanking big time

actually all three WWE products Raw, Smackdown and especially ECW are awful. Smackdown and ECW more so, but Raw is nothing worth watching these days either.

i havent followed the ratings on either TNA or TUF, but im sad to hear what you say.

i like TNA far more than WWE these days. but this seasons TUF doesnt have any strong personalities to pull for (or against) except Shonie Carter, who just cracks me up, but i wouldnt want to live with him for 8 weeks those guys have to.

im kind of hoping for Matt Serra to win his weight class there.

How the hell can you have DQs and count outs in ECW? It's killing the brand.

WWE's product is that they don't create new stars like they did in the past. Half of it is because there's no competition to make them better. The writers are just lazy and out of touch with the fan demand.

NO NO. Odds are you are just too old for the product now. I mean, most wresting fans are kids and/or teenagers. Im guessing your neither.

They are producing a show for people of that age. You aren't supposed to like it. They are aiming towards a younger audience. If you watch it for what its supposed to be and for what its worth. It's fine. If your looking for adult drama/entertainment, then don't watch. You aren't goign to get it.

Good points and you're probably right that I'm just too old for it I guess the fact that I can't sit through a whole RAW/Smackdown or PPV anymore proves it. It's sad because I got the Bret Hart and Ric Flair DVDs and I can watch those for hours but wrestling today is crap.

But I'm not just talking about the back stories and back stage stuff I'm talking about the wrestling itself too. Honestly I could care less for the drama part because even growing up in the 80s as a kid I realized that the angles and characters were too cartoony for me but I just watched to see great matches. I just never see it anymore. There aren't any techincal guys out there like the Flairs/Harts/Michaels/Guerreros/Benoits anymore (yes granted those guys either retired or died) but that's the whole problem with the WWE and it always has been, it's all about the looks, hair and muscles. We are forced to have to watch big guys who stink in the ring like JBL/Big Show/Kane/Chris Masters etc.

With the old ECW there was nothing to get, it was a bunch of guys killing each other every night. Now I understand that it takes a huge toll on the wrestler's bodies and it is a risky promotion to run especially since the WWE is a public company but if you're not going to do it right don't bring it back.

Kurt Angle to TNA. And TNA gets 2 hour TV show starting in Nov on Thursday nights.

This proves 2 things...
1) TNA is the devil and doesn't care about its workers. To hire Kurt Angle after he was just let go by WWE for failing multiple drug tests and being suspended twice within 3 months is a joke. Kurt Angle is going to kill himself with his lifestyle and TNA is helping him speed up the process

2) 2 hours of TNA each week??? They can't put together 1 hour of TV a week that people want to watch. They draw less than a 1.0 rating. Now 2 hours of crap?

Who is runnning this compan...oh wait. nevermind
