This could turn ugly.
So this means there won't be a Salary cap anymore and the NFL will be like the MLB capless with the same teams winning over and over again?

It sure seems to be heading that way.

Awesome. Sign TO to a 10 million 1 year deal, give 7 million to Bentley and Hutchinson, throw 10 million at Brees and 7 million at Givens and 12 million at Peterson and rename the team the "Yankees"

Thats what you'll see the Redskins do.

I wonder which team has the most money and will be able to sign everyone it wants. This effectively would ruin teams like the Texans chances from signing a lot of people as well.

You know what else it means? Something noone has brought up: Ticket prices are going to SKY-ROCKET. It's much easier for MLB to pay high salaries because they have so many games and generate alot more money. With each team only having 8 home games in the NFL, imagine what the ticket prices would have to be increased to help pay the salaries.

Absolutely. This is Dan Snyder's ultimate plan. I think he is behind the entire thing because he knows if nothing is resolved, he is one of the few owners who has a boatload of cash and wouldnt mind spending it on whoever he wanted.

wont happen. Even if there is not CBA in place by the start of FA, alot of the money in a contract will be escalated into the 06 cap. In addition to that, the CBA will likely be done before the start of the 07 season, of course it will likely be alot sooner, in any case, that new CBA will inevitably cap the 07 season leaving teams hurting in very bad way if they do contracts and ignore the fact that 07 at some point would in fact be capped. For example if we sign playes and design the contracts to all pay out in 07 what happens in 07 when those contracts come due and a cap is place? both the NFL and the NFLPA want a cap of some sort, the hang up is revenue sharing. In additon to that, many are thinking that the Agents will try and get one year deals for their clients so if in fact there is no cap in 07 they will stand to make a ton of money, hitting the FA market again after this season.

They will get a deal done, there will be no uncapped 2007. There also wont be any significant signings until a deal gets done.
