That's because he is tremendous at recognizing pressure pre snap. And knows he needs to make a quick decision. This is the evolution of an elite QB. The doubters can quote me on that. He will be elite

Stats do not show that a qb will be elite, or pre snap reads. Heart has to be a factor and as well as putting games on his houlders and carrying the team despite failing defenses. I'm not so much doubting as I am being realistic. Even doubters want him to be elite, every Finfan does.

I'm sorry but I've always found that sort of nonsense to be such a load of crock. Trying to judge a player's "heart" and using it as a gauge to whether or not he'll be an elite QB is an act of folly, IMO. Certain statistics, pre-snap reads, ability to work a pocket, go through progressions, and make smart decisions are generally more obvious with an eye test than "heart", and do a pretty good job of correlating with a list of the Elite QBs in today's NFL. The truth is, no QB will have an elite career filled with accomplishment without a complete team around him.

There aren't many QBs who win Superbowls "despite" their defense. I'm having trouble even thinking of one.

Those numbers are certainly pleasantly surprising. I for one don't believe stats tell the whole story -- but its certainly "better" to have good stats VS. bad!

For sure, Ryan has certainly had a lot of "under pressure" training...

Considering when there was pressure, Tannehill was better this past year then top QBs like Brady, Luck, Wilson, and Manning to just name a few, but when there was no pressure, Tannehill falls from one of the top players to average.

What that tells me is that when there is pressure, and it falls mostly on the QB to make the play, he does so, which shows he can think quickly on his feet, but when there is no pressure, and the QB has more then enough time to find the open receiver, he has a harder time finding the receiver, which tells us a good amount of the reason is there is less pressure, because there extra coverage, but the receivers are having trouble getting separation...that falls more on the receiver as much or more then the QB.

Tannehill does need to be a bit more decisive, which is the continuing growing process we expect from him this year as we have these last 3, but this year with better receivers, that Tannehill can actually trust, and know drops will rarely happen if he does his part, that will make him a much better QB this year.
