In the US, Grades are A, B, C, D and F. I am not sure if I ever saw a grade in school that was an E? That is why it was a little confusing. A grade of C has always been average. If you got a D or an F you were failing.

I was using it as a ranking rather than a grade. So, roughly A = Top 5, B = Top 10 etc.. Hence the E. Should have clarified I suppose.
