Before going crazy agreeing with his arguments, please realize that this is a blogger, not a professional reporter or writer. Given that, his points regarding Sparano's work ethic, the roster turnover, weight room emphasis, capitalizing on the advantages of training in the heat, the reinvigoration of players like Porter, Ricky and Vonnie, the arrogance of Saban and Cam all get a thumbs up IMO. I agree that it appears BP and crew have instilled a renewed level of respect and inspiration, spurred on by fear.

This was picked up by the Bleacher Report also FWIW. At the least it's a hopeful, (albeit in terms of wins, I think overly optimistic,) take and a good read especially as compared to watching the paint dry these days.

I think Saban instilled hard work. Our defense was very tough under him and our players actually tackled.. Now Cam on the other hand, make me puuuuuke with his club med training camp.

Make no mistake about it, these players WILL be ready for the season. If they arent, they wont be on the team

I think the practice bubble should be taken down. What the hell were they thinking? Heat is the only weapon Miami has.

I can agree with that. Remember the days we started the seasons 5-1, 6-2, 7-2...and would be practically unbeatable at home. Remember our 12-13 year home opener win streak?

Agreed, bring back that aspect of homefeild. Hell last year i guys looked more worn out in the 4th qtr than the other teams.

Wait? you mean to tell me our guys were on the field during the 4th qtr? Holy crap, I could have sworn they were on the beach resting because I dont remember them being on the field.

You can't get rid of the bubble. It is the best thing Saban did for this team. For years it seemed like Training Camp practices were being cancelled due to thunderstorms. They got hit hard with having to lose practice time in 05', which is why Saban built the bubble. Now when a thunderstorm comes, instead of scrubbing practice, they can just continue it inside. Also, come November/December they can regulate the temperature to get ready for games up in New York and New England.

I am glad they have the bubble.

good points... I forgot about those.. remember the BAD one they had in 2004...

can you lower the temperature in the bubble that low? In November and december it gets really cold here in jersey, in buffalo and NE. You need to lower the bubble temp well into the 40's. Does the temp in there go that low?

Well your from PA.. Im sure you know how cold it gets in the northeast.. although Buff gets the worst of it out of all AFCE teams

I agree the bubble helps to keep from being limited in practices.
We sucked last year on so many levels so not sure practice was the root of it anyway. we have in the past drawn back on practice because we had too many practice injuries, you have to have a good balance. Say what you want about Saban but it wasnt his approach at practice that failed him.

The main reason for the practice bubble was the risk of lightning strike

I heard that, but they also didnt want to come in cause it was raining? Come on we play football outside. The dome has A/C and it was part of the softness of last years team.

I thought Saban believed in hard work, BUT he made the game (especially for the DBs) way too complicated. Listening to a lot of the secondary players talk about the nice change in philosophy got me thinking, was our secondary really that bad, or were they really overthinking everything? Probably somewhere in the middle.

Cam, can't argue with. Not just Camp Med, but he wasn't gameplanning in the preseason, and talked about letting some of his assistants run the show during preseason games. How can we expect our team to be prepared when our coach isn't even prepared?

There are some good arguments for the bubble, but although Florida far and away leads all other states in lightning strikes (one killed a HS scrimmage player in Parkland last year), SoFL does not have a monopoly on them; it's a big state with recorded strikes throughout it. Why don't Jacksonville or TB have bubbles? Has there ever been a near miss in Davie prior to Saban's "innovation."

Yeah, this is a terrible rainy season with monsoon-like downpours that don't last all that long, but no one ever melted. I'd think practicing under slippery and sloppy weather conditions with rain pelting down on you would help prepare us tropicals for the snowbowls later on in the season. As far as conditioning in hot, humid weather, I believe outside practices can only help us regain our early season competitive edge.

Some valid rationale has been cited for the bubbles but considering the big picture I'm keeping my vote to de-bubble.
