Iverson's speed & quickness in any type of open field would be insane.Prime Time said:Talking about AI as a Soccer player? What an idiot.
Blueprint said:Boik, actually, he's not an idiot for putting Shaun Livingston up there. If I was a GM and I noticed Shaun Livingston's name on my roster, I'd make sure opposing teams were aware of him being 110% off the market. Livingston has just as much "potential" as any single player in this league - his potential is truly out've this world. And no, he can't beat out Cuttino Mobley because Cuttino Mobley is a SG. Livingston is a 20-year old 6'7 PG who can run the floor with the best of them, a very, very rare talent. You'll soon recognize him as a franchise player; one more year of learning behind Sam Cassell while contributing off the bench. He can be an All-Star caliber player with just a decent jumpshot, so imagine when that jumper improves.
Simmons is an idiot indeed, but not exactly for putting Livingston up there.
EDIT: Why's Antoine Walker's contract of 5-years/$45 mil up there, I thought he signed a new deal when we traded for him? Wtf......

Potential is different then currently being a top 40 player. Channing Frye and Danny Granger have just as much potential and their PER and Hollinger stats are better. So why not put them in there?Blueprint said:Boik, actually, he's not an idiot for putting Shaun Livingston up there. I know what he did. how can a player who barely gets off his own teams bench be in the top 40. Livingston has upside but hes accomplished nothing and has proven to be fragile.Ferretsquig said:Simmons wasnt making a list of the top 40 players in the league. 1. Dwyane Wade
Now here's someone we KNOW won't be going anywhere.

Not only is he not in the top 100 but hes not even a starter on his own team. If he was that good he could beat out mobley for a starting spot.
I mean, off the top of my head there were at least 4 rookie part timers last year who showed they were better + more productive and im not even talking about paul, bogut, or marvin williams. Frye, Nate Robinson, Granger, and deron williams.
Ray Allen all the way down at 26? I realize hes 30 but hes got 5-6 more years as an elite shooter. Few players are more likely to hit a big 3 or can carry a team for a number of games at a time.
Then he goes and makes an overpaid list with Crawford and Randolph on it both of which are productive players; randolph at 20/10 and crawford at 15ppg and showing an ability to play well in the clutch, but leaves Szczerbiak and peja, both of whom had higher fg %'s but comparable numbers otherwise with bigger per year salaries, off the overpaid list. And maybe if Randolph had someone, anyone who could make a shot on a consistant basis his FG % would be higher. Juan Dixon and Steve Blake as your next best scorers will add some pressure.
Once agin Simmons proves hes dumb.
That list has absolutely nothing to do with the top 40 players in the league - I'm not dumb enough to put Livingston up there at this time. When you're talking about untradeable players, then yes, potential does matter. Also, Knicks & Pacers fans could only wish that Frye & Ganger have nearly as much potential as Shaun Livingston; that's crazy to think. I think you're underrating the hell out've his talent & potential.Boik14 said:Potential is different then currently being a top 40 player. Simmons definitely messed up with some of the guys he put on that list for overpaid players. How in the world can you leave Tyson Chandler off that list at 6/60m and Stromile Swift making about 10m per and coming off a season in which he was a complete non factor.
Exactly.Ferretsquig said:Simmons wasnt making a list of the top 40 players in the league. He was listing the comparative trade values. If anything, he underrated Livingston's value. The Clippers would never give him up.
Chris Paul is better. Andrew Bogut came along a bit, but Marvin Williams didn't do anything (give him time). I haven't heard anybody talk up Marvin Williams since last year though? Since the start of the season, Chris Paul was always the talked of, and rightfully so. I hate talking stats, but 16/8/5 for a 20-year old rookie PG? That's crazy. Felton doesn't belong in the same sentence as him yet.Buddwalk said:You know what boggles me...how when people mention nba rookies of last year they always go Chris Paul, Andrew Bogut, and Marvin Williams. You know Raymond Felton at a better second half season then any rookie including chris paul check the stats...dont worry Im a huge chris paul fan too
