"According to a league source with knowledge of the negotiations, the Dolphins at some point recently increased their offer to a fifth-rounder in 2007 or unidentified player(s), ESPN.com's Michael Smith reported."

I hope it's a player or players! I'll be pissed if we give them a 5th round pick!!

O well...
When we get to the super bowl it all won't matter.

Wasn't QB J. Harrington the "#3 overall pick" in the draft just five years ago. He's worth a 5th rounder today in my opinion....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Oh relax. Wow a 5th round pick. Next April 29th is the ONLY day you are going to regret this move.. just because it will be annoying to have to wait a full round without picking. At the moment, we improved.

....if we traded a 5th for him when he is supposed to be released in a month I no longer like Saban.
Pretty pathetic statement to make.

If it's a 5th it'.s a fifth thats all

What kind of QB would we get with a 5th next year?

It's not that I don't think he's worth a 5th round pick, I'm just pissed that we have to give it to Matt Millen!!

Why don't we wait for official confirmation of what we traded before we decide if we gave up too much or just enough.

Great point, while its nice to have these picks having Harrington in camp and ready in case pep isn't helps this team far more than a 5th rounder next season

Exactly. For some reason, people on this board seem to regard late second day picks as gold. I think it has to do with our previous regime, and the bad experiences we encountered with the trading of picks. So far, every pick we have dealt with Saban has been excellent value, including Manny Wright in the 5th.

No matter what we gave up, Matt Millen has lost. He drafted this kid #3 overall, and has traded him for (supposedly) a 5th round pick.

Add it to the list of his mistakes and move on.

I mean, us as fans know it sounds illogical to trade a draft pick for a player who is going to be released soon. If it's a player, I understand, the salary would be the main factor in that. The only other reason I can think of is their fear of him deciding to sign with another team who offers him more money once he's released.
