Here's a new list of first round targets for Miami (in no order).

O.J. Howard TE Alabama
Howard made my first list of targets and I believe he's in serious contention if he makes it to #22. It's exciting to think what he would add to Miami's offense, but with so many needs on defense he seems more like a long-shot.

Dan Feeney OG Indiana
I know fans would hate to see a guard in round 1, but Feeney is exactly what this offense needs...a physical player who can match-up with the talented defensive tackles in the division. This may be a higher probability than we think, especially if Brandon Albert is cut.

Taco Charlton DE Michigan
Seems like a perfect fit for Miami at a position of need.

Derek Barnett DE Tennessee
Ultra productive with a decent chance to get to #22. A little overrated?

Jabrill Peppers S/LB Michigan
One of the more interesting prospects in the draft. Could be someone who helps match-up with the speed of New England.

Cam Robinson OT Alabama
Between Robinson and Feeney, I like Feeney better but Robinson could be in play.

Soloman Thomas DE Stanford
I think he'll be gone before #22. One of my favorites of the defensive ends.

David Njoku TE Miami
Very athletic tight end who could go near the end of round 1.

Haason Reddick LB Temple

A defensive end at Temple, Reddick has set the scouting community on fire with his Senior Bowl performance.

Tim Williams OLB Alabama
Miami needs pass rushers and Williams can fill that role. Probably just a situational pass rusher early on.

Montravius Adams DT Auburn
This guy just dominates. Miami probably won't look defensive tackle in round 1, but Adams next to Suh would be very difficult for opposing offenses.

Zack Cunningham LB Vanderbilt
Depending on what happens in free agency, linebacker is Miami's #1 need. Cunningham would seem to be high on the Dolphins list.

Jarrad Davis ILB Florida
I feel like he's a bit underrated, but love his physical style of play.

T.J. Watt OLB Wisconsin
Think of him more as a 2nd rounder, but could end up in round 1. Size, speed and work ethic are all positives.

I like Feeney, but he makes more senses in the second round... maybe falls to the third.

The hope with Barnett is that he's a similar athlete to Bosa. We know he's not fast or explosive, but we've seen him bed the edge well enough (for me) to say that his 3-cone could be very good for his size. If he shows well in the agility drills, he should maintain his 1st RD grade. If he's a complete slug, that would hurt. I still like him - even though I put a high emphasis on physical tools for Edge and DE.

Takkarist McKinley should be a target, and Marcus Williams and Tanoh Kpassagnon are dark-horse candidates. Ramczyk is also a possibility.

I rate Wormley ahead of Adams. Guessing you didn't include Foster because you don't think he'll be there?

I agree, but with his performance this week I don't see him making it past pick 35 or 36. If we orchestrate a trade down in the first or acquire an early 2nd he'd be a solid pick.

I forgot about McKinley, but he would definitely have to be a target with his pass rush ability. Yeah, Foster would be great but I see him mocked pretty consistently in the top 10. Kpassagnon could be a fast riser.

Ryan Anderson is another I'd add to this list. Love his toughness just not sure about his ability in coverage.

I watched a Jarrad Davis highlight tape recently and was quite impressed. He can thump, mix it up with the big guys and cover backs and TE's. Not sure about his durability, but there was a hit on Derrick Henry that made me sit up and rewind. This entire draft could be defense and I would be very pleased. Doubling down on linebackers could prove very beneficial.

I am excited for this years draft. Don't overlook the fact that the offense sustaining drives and keeping our defense off the field could be a focus to help the defense too. Depending on what route we go in free agency..I am hoping they don't force themselves to go defense automatically in round 1 but if Cunningham or Davis is there I don't see how you pass on either one.

If Cam Robinson is there for us I won't be at all surprised if they take him then trade Albert for a pick since he won't even be in the plans after 2017 anyway.

If OJ Howard is there I can just as easily see him being drafted and if we already added a FA guard like Zietler or Leary then we could go out each Sunday and just bank on our offense putting up over 30 each time and just have our defense hold up as best as they can

There will be plenty of options there for us and it will be very hard to screw up our first pick. With the youth we have on offense...defense looks to be the focus this offseason and very likely the next..other than 1 or 2 pieces on O like this year and next year

Takk McKinley should be a target but his shoulder injury gives me pause. He is trying to decide if he going to have surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

Yeah, his medical will be big. If it checks out, though, he's a big-time talent.

Thats like shaq lawson last year and it basically gave him a red shirt rookie season

Some spot situational play very late in the season

Question...can the Dolphins afford to give a 1st round player a red shirt season. Would the long term gain outweigh the short term lost.

Id say no given the talent in the class elsewhere but thats just me...its hard also to play thru a torn labrum in a pass rush role...so im sure he will need surgery or be limited if he does play thru it

If he runs 4.4 flat at 265 and doesnt need surgery miami wouldnt sniff him anyways...thats unheard of fast for that size

I dont know of anyone who actually started a season and played thru it with a torn labrum as an edge rusher

My guess is if it is torn he does need surgery and he will either have it prior to the draft or after...the delay being more about trying to maintain his draft stock than he doesnt need it

If its torn id say surgery is in his future

I also dont see 265 on that video clip looks lighter than that to me if hes 6 foot 2

I think when he says 4.4 he means in the 4.4s...combine time...which is still floating but its a little different at 250 than 265

Also did shaq lawson bench? I would think he skipped it i would expect mckinley to do the same
