Our linebackers are frickin awesome... :rawk: Crowder is something special and our other two starting LBs already are... Zach Thomas had an insane game, that guy must fill gaps in his sleep... Whoever says he is fading, or should be traded, is just plain wrong. And oh yea, Junior is STILL playing at a pretty high level.

Also, I thought Tebucky Jones played a damn fine game, he was BIG in run support, laid a lot of wood, and was constantly around the ball. Great aquisition by Saban.

For those who were unerwhelmed by Ronnie Brown, you have to remember, Denver had 8 in the box the whole first half, in the second half I thought Ronnie did a great job. And through the whole game he picked up blitzes and blocked really well.

hey about our linebackers, did spragan play at all?

Awsome post and Ronnie Brown even though the stats didn't show he had an awsome game I thought he played really good. Also, Zach Thomas was amazing on those goal line stops I think those were huge plays for our Defense and will be something great to look back on and gain confidence for next week.

To my recollection I don't recall seeing #59 in there at all.

I agree with you. Crowder had a particularly monstrous first half. At one point I was just awe-struck by him. Then he quieted down, but Zach was just constant throughout the game. He ended up with 14 tackles. In the past I've noticed that when Zach is getting 12+ tackles it usually is NOT a good sign about our run defense, believe it or not. It just goes to show you what a difference this style of defense makes that Zach is able to go and make tackles at or behind the line of scrimmage a lot more than he was.

People talk about how this defense isn't suited for Zach because it leaves him exposed. He'll tell you though that he feels less exposed than he did the past few years. What people forget is that since Daryl Gardener's slide into being constantly injured, Miami hasn't had those two big defensive tackles to keep Zach's jersey clean consistently. Larry Chester came here but you know Bowens and Chester haven't been healthy at the same time in a while. So basically, Zach's been uncovered for a few years, probably even more than he is right now in this defense. That's why I think you notice that in the past when Zach was getting like 15 tackles and having some ridiculous game tackle-wise, we're actually not stopping the run that well. Way back in the day that wasn't the case Zach was getting tons of tackles he was doing a lot of it at or behind the LOS.

the one thing im truly happy about is that i haven't seen any "WE SHOULD HAVE TAKEN CADDY!" threads. Also, Ronnie single handedly took champ bailey out of the game. Champ had caused two turnovers before that point, and having ronnie paid off real well there.

I don't remember seeing him at all either. The only thing I can think is that Spragan broke some in-house rule that nobody is talking about and he was actually benched as punishment but Saban kept it all within the family...either that or Saban really felt that Spragan would be a risk to rely upon against his old team. Saban may have felt that if Denver knew Spragan was going to be relied upon they may be able to game plan against his tendencies.

good insight. didn't think of that. But i truly believe crowder earned the spot over him. I just figured spragan would get some time in. But i guess that meant the other 3 guys were quite alright without him. Which is fine by me.

You aren't looking very hard.

It will be interesting to see how other teams adjust to our new defense and vice versa as the season continues. Zach is still awesome, seems like people have been waiting for him to slow down his entire career, hes just a great player. Wish I could have seen the game, missed a good one.

I was there. He did. He was in there when we stopped them on 4th and 1. He spelled Junior on several plays.

Chrowder Looked Great, Ronnie Was Facing 8 Men In The Box, Did A Great Job Picking Up The Blitz. Daniels Did A Nice Job Almost Got Beat By Ashely Lelei Sp?
