For those in Upstate, NY area, there is a Dan Marino autograph signing today in Syracuse that starts at 6pm.

So, if your in Rochester, Albany, Syracuse, Buffalo, Binghamton...etc and didn't know about it, make the short drive to meet Dan the man. Only 500 tickets are being sold for this. They have been on sale for like 6 months now, I don't think they sold all 500 though (it's not cheap). So, still some left. Carousel Mall in Syracuse.

Cuse is still a good 2-3 drive for me and I'm IN Upstate NY. :(

Yeah, Im from the cuse but live in NYC now...I was gonna go home for it but it is too long of a drive and the tickets are about 300.00 (Which is BS)

Its about 300 for an autographed helmet, and 275 for an autographed Jersey. I called the store in November

You know, I can't recall ever seeing Marini scheduled for an autograph session in South or Central Florida....there have been plenty of NY/NJ signings. Does anyone know if Marino ever attends any autograph events in Florida?

Check his website. I might say on there

I find it refreshing that someone is actually referring to Upstate New York in the proper context...as an 'Upstate' native and 'Downstate' transplant, it's great to see that you weren't referring to Westchester, the Hudson Valley or Rockland Co. as Upstate...THANK YOU!

:D

WHY Syracuse, NY? Why not something more east besides New Jersey? Nice he does still do the autograph stuff... he makes tons of money with investments and television stuff...

You realize he is charging big bucks for the "autograph stuff"?

He is charging big bucks.... but to go to cold Syracuse??? The guy is set for money. I think he does it cause he likes to

I love Dan Marino, BUT I am not paying for anyone's autograph. When I was a kid I got most of the Nuggets, Broncos and other athletes autographs for FREE.....phooey to those who have to sell them.

Because the Autograph company/business here in Syracuse paid him his fee to bring him to Syracuse to sign autographs here. If a place in Alaska paid his fee, he would go there and sign.

Whoever pays him to do the signing is where he goes and does it.

He is in NYC on Wed for the HBO show. Is working CBS in NYC on Sat and Sun.

So, in the off time inbetween, why not do a signing and make some side cash up here in the "general" area of NYC. Quick 1 hour flight from Syracuse to NYC!

PLUS......the memorbila store here in Syracuse paid him his fee to come up here for it, so it makes perfect sense.

Dolphins fans showed up in force tonight. The line looped through the whole west wing of the mall. For a 6pm signing people were getting in line at around NOON or so.

The people who ran it kept it moving well and Dan was friendly.

I live 30 minutes from that mall and I did not go.
Why?
First, I already have 2 Marino signed items.
Second, it was $175 for a flat item and you already know how much for other things. Way too rich for my blood, for that much, you ought to get a few minutes of the Man's time.
I did pay $50 5 years ago to see Dan at a dinner in Rochester. I did not get an autograph, but I was in the same room with him, got a couple of pics and had a good meal.
They also had an auction for charity where you could catch a pass from Dan and he would sign the ball.
That, I would pay a grand for easily because you got a personal memory of the greatest QB of all time.
A friend of mine went (someone won a ticket in a raffle and gave it to her) and next time I talk to her, I'll find out how it went.
The local Syracuse paper is covering it (www.syracuse.com) and they said there were 500 people in line, so saying an average autograph was $200, that's a cool $100Gs easy.
