9. Miami Dolphins (from Washington Redskins)  They're trying to complete a deal to move CB Patrick Surtain to the Kansas City Chiefs. Once they make this pick, they can do it. Antrel Rolle, CB, Miami (Fla.)

25. Miami Dolphins (from Washington Redskins from Denver Broncos)  Miami's new offense needs a difference-maker who can go and get it. This guy has a vertical leap that's off the charts. Reggie Brown, WR, Georgia.

A trade with the Redskins? If we were to do this and Ronnie Brown was still available at #9 and we didn't take him, it would be a dumb thing to do.

It's almost a laughable draft.

I wouldn't mind a trade down with the Skins, but boy, that would be stupid to pass on Brown at 9.

They have us getting the #9 and #25 picks for our #2....NOT ENOUGH.

That would only make sense to me if the Redskins through in a first rounder in '06...oh yah...they already burned it...

Dropping down to #9 is too far in my opinion.

If Brown (or frankly any of the 3 RBs) were to make it to 9 when we picked, it would be a STEAL. This draft has more problems than that, though.

Skins would have to come up with more then that and they have as many holes as we do to fill,so I see no trade with them. I still say the only trade possible will come from TB or the Bears for a small ( 3 or 4 round pick) if you can still get your man ,why not!

I have seen two drafts where Brown has slid. Has something happened to make his stock fall reciently? The one on ESPN had him going 13 to houston. Just Curious.

This is the second mock I see done by a newspaper or magazine that has one of the top 3 runningbacks going to Houston. Why? Domanick Davis was productive for them last year. He has had over 1000 yeards in his two NFL seasons and 13 TDS last year.

I think the trade with Washington, were it to happen would also involve a player. Names that have been floated out there are Rod Gardner and Patrick Ramsey. #9, #25, and Ramsey is fine by me. If its Gardner I want whatever picks they still have left!

9, Ramsey and #25 would be a nice trade for Miami, but that would all but wipe out the team's chances of getting a HB in the first round, unless they reach for one at the bottom half of the round.

Pure speculation on my part....but I think they don't have us taking a RB because of the Ricky rumors.

Re: Houston and the RBs

I wonder if a RB doesn't fall there in these mocks because Houston is a tough pick otherwise. Who else are you going to give them? An OT? A WR? Maybe those picks have implications that make things tough other places.

Not necessarily, if ESPN and USA Today are right then we could land Ronnie Brown at #9. If this happens we have a GENIUS for a coach!!!
