Lions were out there using punt return-like coverage on Gronk with 2 defenders basically bumping him for 5 yards taking him out of the game.

Put Minkah and McDonald (big, strong dude) to double him...

Leaving our ball-hawking FS in Reshad (assuming he plays) to play centerfield

McCain on Hogan, X on Gordon (obviously this is key) but I'd assume with Pats complex playbook, Gordon will basically only be running flies and comebacks.

The one guy that can hurt us is James White. I'd assume we gotta put Baker on him.

Also, on offense, run. the. ball.

Seriously, pound the rock. Slow the game. Time of Possession is key. Lions had the ball for almost 20 minutes more than the Pats.

I whole heartedly agree with this except for one thing. I would actually like Minkah on whoever they have at tailback and put a LB on gronk with McDonald. They love throwing to their quick backs and I don’t trust any of our linebackers to cover them.

Lions really did a good job in that game. And they had Brady on his backside for much of it. That really helps the rest of the D.

When Brady is under continous pressure, he has bad games.
Sack and disrupt Brady, and stop their running game and we will improve our odds of winning.
Also playing hard for 60 minutes.

I don't know about slowing the game. Typically the high-flying Patriots offense required this, but in this case I think it's the other way around. THEY are going to try to slow down the game and limit our TOP because it's our offense that has demonstrated the knack for quick-strikes and efficiency, at least when Gase seems to feel like it. Limit the exposure of their defense to our skill players.
