V. Young will not work out at the combine

yeah, i heard this last week... i think that's his agent telling him "you can only fall by working out"...

he should at least agree to throw... the only question about the guy is his ability to throw intermediates, and do so accurately, from under center taking a 5-7 step drop... if i'm New Orleans or Tennessee, i'm possibly passing on him then... Definitely if i'm Houston... This just locks up Bush for them...

this says something, to me... it says his agent feels he may not throw well...
 
I thought he was not going to throw. I just heard him say the other day on tv that he was running a 4.43 forty. If thats true, why not at least run to bump up the stock a little bit, which would definitely happen if he ran a 4.4 or even got it into the upper 4.3 range.

no it says he's a top QB prospect, and they never throw at the combine. no reason for him to at all.
 
It's not unusual for top QB's not to throw at the combine. Most of them don't. The problem with Young is he originally said he WAS going to throw... and now he's backing out. He should've said from the beginning he's wasn't going to throw.

But he'll still throw at his Pro-Day and/or personal workouts, so it's not that big a deal.
 
Old news, reported a couple weeks ago. He's waiting til Texas' pro day.
 
whatever... the point is, the only serious question about his ability is his arm and mechanics... he only wants to throw in a "comfortable" environment, at Texas and with HIS receivers... newsflash, Vince... you're not going to be comfortable in the NFL...

if i'm a GM in the top 3-4, and he doesn't wanna throw, i'm no longer interested....

Not to mention, he's never played in a pro style offense.

you'd be marking off a lot of players on your list if you were in the top 3 of the draft every year.

i can't believe people are making a big deal of this. just makes it more obvious how little people know about the draft, and appraently the players in the draft.

the difference is, i would KNOW what the other players can do in certain situations... and wouldn't mark them off...

it IS a big deal... and i'll bet you Texas and New Orleans have already decided to pass (so to speak) and this solidified their decision...

i know plenty about the draft, thanks...

then who would you draft if you were new orleans? matt leinart won't be there either. obviously you can't draft him. the texans gave carr an extension, they're taking bush. but will he participate fully at the combine? better let him slide.

If the texans take bush how is leinart going to not be there?

Thats not the point. He was referring to players that aren't fully participating in the combine.
