Good to hear this :hi5:

No joke: At the 12 MGM Mirage hotel properties in Nevada, the odds of the Dolphins winning next season's Super Bowl have shrunk from 150-1 to 60-1 since February. That big a jump ''is unusual,'' MGM sports book manager Robert Walker said. ''People have a lot of confidence in Bill Parcells. They're plucking $10 to $20 down on Miami when they come to Las Vegas.'' The Raiders, Lions and 49ers also are 60-1, ahead of only the Chiefs (80-1) and Falcons (125-1). -- Miami Herald

If Brady goes down then id say we got a chance ! Not a big one ! But a Chance ! Here is to the Running Game ! :woot:This Bud's 4 you!

The one common denominator among those who have an interest in sports futures.... VEGAS!

They call it like they see it... money talks and everything else walks!

I would rather have them on our side than anyone in the ESPN booth!

A chance at what? What does Brady have to do w/ anything?

Its cause of Tony Sparano's vegas connections. He sent a message to the book makers, "better lower those odds or you'll wake up in a hole in the middle of the desert"

That SOB brady never gets injured... and if he goes down the Pats go down! Which means probably 2 more wins for Miami this year and probably even your Jets! So shut up and start roooting hahah

Not really we call it where the money goes. There is always somebody willing to drop a grand or two on their home team just to see what happens, and occasionally they get lucky.

Right... The betters dictate the lines, vegas only starts them... More people bet on a team, the higher their line goes, the less people bet on a team, the lower their line goes. Thats how vegas keeps the betting even, or more people betting, if you can believe it.

Nice to know that Vegas thinks we won't be as bad as the Chiefs or Falcons. Doesn't mean super bowl or bust, just that we shouldn't finish dead last this year.

Baby steps, folks!

I think this is far more telling of what people think of the Dolphins then these so called "experts" that evaluate teams and rosters. It's easy to be bias when you have nothing to lose, it's another when you actually put money where your mouth is.

Obviously this is no guarantee for success, but it is a little more believable then anything you'll read on MMQB. Why? Cause we don't know who those guy's childhood teams were and everyone has favorites...EVERYONE. When you're putting money down it more often then not has nothing to do with "your favorite team", but who you think will win. Especially when you consider the numbers that change a team from 150-1 to 60-1. That's a large number of bets.

I have learned in the past that it NEVER pays to bet with your heart and not your head... Damn Dolphins used to burn the hell out of me a few years ago. :(

but I always made it back on teams like seattle and indy trying to play catch up

Exactly my point, many people do bet with their hearts. But if that were the case, Miami would have been 60-1 odds to start with and not 150-1 odds. Obviously "Dolphin fans" didn't change those odds. My guess is it's the people that are more then your casual better changed those odds.
