Verba released

Verba is crazy if he thinks he is going to get "Orlando Pace" money. We need to stay clear of guys like this, including Ty "It's all about the money" Law. :yell:
 
Why do guys bring up these guys when they're asking for this type money, you know we're not going to be paying that. Wait until mid TC, then talk about them, when they need a home and have become rational.

Let's see what the market says, about both players, before we go ahead and dismiss them. Verba agreed to give back a roster bonus that was already paid to him in order to become a FA. The browns came to terms with Shelton...there were three teams said to be interested in Shelton...the Texans, Bears, and Chiefs. Verba was given permission to seek a trade which all but gave him the right to negotiate a contract with these teams. The smart money says that Verba agreed already on basic terms of a deal with one of these teams, and judging by his willingness to give back about $500k, the deal is for more than the veteran's minimum.

If I'm wrong, however, there's the possibility that Verba has grossly overestimated his value, and we may get away with offering the minimum for a year deal.

I'd have to agree with gonick1 nothin' says this guys worth his bodywieght in $
 
Guys, let's just throw our precious cap money at every piece of sh*t player that gets cut. We shall amass a super team comprised of players with bad attitudes and over-inflated self-worths. Instead of beating teams with physical skill or gameplanning, we will beat them with a barrage of arrogance and ridiculous self-value.
