Vernon Gholston Inactive Today - LOL

They said its going to take him a while to learn the playbook. He had a bad rookie year. It happens. That doesnt make him a bust. LT was on the Fan the other day and said he thinks Gholston is going to be very good. Thats just LT's opinion though.

As long as it's good with you man. That's the most important thing.

I'd make a comment, but, I don't want to get a thread moved to the Depths that I'm in.......DUDE is your #1 draft pick and, he's INACTIVE because he has to learn the PLAYBOOK?! The SAME playbook that EVERY other player picks up fine in camp?!

As long as you are fine with his production, man. That's the most important thing.

Playbook: Rush the passer in passing down
Ghost: A...B...C...D
Season : Tick Tock Tick Tock

Umm a lot of players have struggled their first season. He's learning to play a 3-4 OLB. I'm not saying he hasnt been dissapointing but you cant give up on him this quickly.

Nobody is fine with his production but when you guys wanna label him as a bust after what? 14 games thats dumb if you ask me.

Whats funny about all of this is that if the Jets cut him today and the Dolphins signed him you guys would be talking about how he could develop into a good player and maybe he just needs a chance.

Dude, if we took a poll of fans from the other 31 teams in the NFL and asked the question "Based upon his production, and high draft status would you label Vernon Gholston a BUST?" I promise you a resounding majority would say, YES. This man should've showed something by now. A flash, a glimpse, a glimmer of hope to give Jets fans the feeling that he is going to be a good player. Fact of the matter is, is that he has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! NOTHING AT ALL!!! Sorry Jests fans, Gholston sucks.

I agree with you, but good luck trying to convince the rest of Finheaven that a rookie needs more time than just a rookie season or a few games before labeling them. All of our rookies are labeled bust as soon as they get drafted by our own fans on this very site. John Beck only had 5 games.

edit: I agree with the last part of your post too.

Yeah, Jake Long is a bust lol..KIDDING!

Dolphin fans would know what busts look like and it looks like Gholston is one but we'll see how he improves in the coming years.

are you saying that in 3rd long he cannot get into to pass rush and beat a man 1 on 1 as he does not know the play book.

lets compare him to gary guyton OLB UDFA who started last 2 weeks for NE. the guy played no snaps , 1 or 2 snaps in the season start and by mid season he was in at 40% of the snaps[before injuries at LB]. now he started 2 games due to injuries. so using pre injury status do you think he can be compare to the 40% snap at LB this UDFA rookie is getting.
or maybe how about vince redd UDFA OLB from liberty he started the year in pratice squad and now plays 15 snaps a game at OLB and comes in passing down to rush the passer .
