Very disappointing

It is funny how people are panicking from THE FIRST PRESEASON GAME!!! I mean I under stand the defense looked really bad but you have to understand that it is somewhat of a young defense. The leadership is gone and new leaders need to be found and step it up. The offense in my opinion looked pretty good. Reggie looked good, pass protection looked decent, and also I have never seen us pick up first downs so easily. Aside Johnson dropping that ball we probably would of scored on that opening position. Chad did look really nervous on the sidelines. The only thing I was really upset with was our run blocking. It was horrible. That needs to be our biggest improvement next game as well as making the plays on third down and in the redzone.

Aside all that I was extremely impressed with tannehill and charles clay. If wallace catches that ball in the endzone, tannehill scores two touchdowns in two series. That is something to look forward to. Don't look to much into the bad. There was a lot of good IMO.

And if the two FG tries were good we win the game with a short FG at the end of the game. That sure looked like a good catch to me by Wallace.

I expected little from the first PS game, and got much less than I expected. We sucked on both sides of the ball. IMO, the D sucked worse than the O, only because they were supposed to be VG. That starts with being able to tackle, which they forgot how to do.

In the NFL, they say you learn from your mistakes. After this showing, coaches are going to have a problem sorting out anything that was mot a mistake.

The only thing disappointing to me was two things.

1. Did not finish good drives to put points up
2. 1st team D sucked, particularly in backfield.

Do I worry? Not really. Why? Because its early.

Some things I am really pleased with.

1. Running hurry up with conviction-If this team just finished drives, we wouldnt even be talking dissapointment
2. Young ones. Lot of work to do. Thats expected though. As long as we have dedicated workers, we will be fine.
3. Penalties did not seem to be a drag. In fact, TB sucked penalty wise. They jumped or lined up offsides like 15 times. Sometimes its the things you dont hear that are good too if you really think about it.

[ agree with original poster.They drove the whole link of the field with their starting qb.on the next drive,with their back up qb they did it again,No big plays on either drive.They just at will ran us over.Then I remembered this is the same defense from last year.the same sorry defense that sucked all last year and did the same exact thing.They let the other team walk all over them.The only good from this game is that Tanne has the potential to be our qb for the next 15 years.

I think everyone is surprised how poorly the defense played. I don't think tamps played that well either to be honest. Then again, without scheming, your sending your players out there to straight out ball. It should their vulnerabilities. That new CB Marshall looked pretty good, and Rashad Jones also looked decent. Good tackler. Smith & Davis better start shutting up, because I am not impressed with either of them.

Lots of work to do. Let's see if they get this cleaned up.

First preseason game............ The only thing you can take out of this is Tannehill showed potential. Which is great, but thats all you can take out of it. Everyone has a long way to go, first scrimmage new coach and system. You shouldnt expected them to come out looking like a veteran championship team.

I know what the mistake was. And that's a mistake that bothers me. That shouldn't be a mistake you make at any db position so the transition from cb to safety shouldn't matter. there Show some instincts son and finish off a taylor-made pick for ya.
