I saw them mention this stat today we are 0-19 on 3rd downs of 7 yards or more....that is a very disturbing stat to me just thought i would mention it to see if others notice that and for thoughts on it

We ended that streak today when Pennington hit Davone Bess for a 10-yard gain on third and 8.

Still, it's clear that we struggle to convert long third downs when the defense knows that we're going to throw.

oh yeah your right i was drinking during the game so maybe that didnt help i just know i heard that stat and was disgusted with it

That is awful. One of the reasons is because we have to pass in that situation and Chad doesn't have the arm necessary for many of the routes to get the first.

I know what you mean, I mean Penny is only fourth in the whole league in average gains per pass at 8 yds per and is 7th in the whole league in QB rating. LOL pathetic.

well duh captain obvious. LMAOO
im just joking but yea a lot has to do with the fact that pennington doesnt have the arm to get a ZIP in especially going up agaisnt DIME/NICKEL packages and u ahve quicker DBs instead of slower LBers so that lack of velocity affects his range.

it is what it is ppl. its another situation pointing out the obvious, his arm is doing some major hurting to this offence and holding it back. hes playing well but well isnt what i look for or many ppl look for when they want to build something great.

you absolutely have no clue what he said or means.
you just sent out a sarcastic response trying ot make him look dumb where in fact he was stating the obvious that i guess some posters "ahem, ahem" can't see due to "numbers and stats recorded"

I would put it more on our WRs just not being able to get separation.

No, I think your the one that has no clue here. The bottom line here is the offense was efficient enough to win today, the QB made the plays necessary to win and folks want to point at the QBs arm strength for plays that were not made, which were on defense today and not offense. And i dont want to make anyone look dumb I'm just pointing out the facts.

as your buddy hugo said, "Just facts, huh? I'm not the smartest man in the world, but it sure does seem like a lot of these "facts" are poorly shrouded opinions."

Since you cant seem to understand the game, for example the offense scoring to take the lead in the last two minutes, then I am just telling you to look at the facts, which would be stats.

First of all, he's not my buddy. He just happens to be a fellow fan whose opinion I happen to agree with in this instance and a few others.

Secondly, he did point out factual data. You should try it sometime. It's fairly enlightening.

In any case, after seeing your latest string of posts and responses in several threads today, I think I'm just going to ignore you assertions from here on out.

You're certainly entitled to your opinions and I'm sure you're a passionate fan of the Dolphins, but I don't enjoy the childish personal insults and the lack of insight/analysis, so I'll just let you be.

You can point out all the statistics you like about Pennington,

If you think that he is a sufficient QB to have in a long yardage situation you are sorely mistaken.

I love his accuracy, and some of his throws are flat out terrific, even some of the deeper ones. But the fact of the matter is his bread and butter is short stuff, his first look to the RB or the TE short, and that just isn't going to fly on 3rd and 10.

hey bro i stopped responding to ur posts after I read the few threads and noticed the nonsense you guys used to analyze a game while in return you two were calling out posters including me on how we dono what we are talking about. you just did it again...."lack of insight/analysis" is what you tell me but yet you guys dono how to evaluate talent on tape and you use fantasy football to evalute? lmaoo. Please. thats where me ignoring your assertions came into play. take care.

btw another fact for these "ppl" that claim I dont use it...when they said Penny is the all time leader in comp. % they stated it is b/c he passes to the TE and RB in the flats more then anyone else on that list. so GO FIGURE!

oh and btw, the ppl on that list are manning, young, warner, etc and I recall each QB throwing it past 15 yards more in one game then penny has in his entire career so to have him number 1 on that list is very pointless and stuipd. i actually think its one of the stuipdest stats b/c its not very informative.
