Resign on cheap:

Jason Fox

Move:
Dion Jordan to OLB

Sign:
Matt Hasselbeck-QB
Colin McCarthy-ILB(cheap)
Kareem Jackson-CB
Orlando Franklin-G
James Carpenter-G

Draft:
1.CB Waynes
2.DT Carl Davis
3.WR Coates or Best available
4.WR Dorsett
5.OG A.Kouandijo
6.TB K.Williams
7. best LB available

QB Tannehill/Hasselbeck

CB Grimes/Waynes/Davis
FS Delmas/Thomas/Aikens
SS Jones/Kovacs
CB Jackson/Taylor

Thoughts?

Solid. Wouldn't draft Waynes and sign Jackson. One or the other. Need another safety. Can't rely on Delmas

As much as I'd like to cut Starks, finding DTs this year in FA and draft is going to be a hot market. Teams like the Bears and the Broncos are moving to 3-4 defenses. Guys like Odrick and Starks will have big markets. Proven 3-4 DEs are going to be in high demand. Going to be a tough year to let Starks go unless we have the inside track on another player such as Knighton or Dan Williams.

either Starks or Odrick will not be on this roster come September. if we re-sign Odrick, we'll cut Starks. if Odrick leaves, Starks will play out his contract.

If we got waynes or Jackson that would be awesome, but I think getting a big WR would help everyone out the most. Still if we got Waynes I think he could be really great cb in the NFL. Problem is he ran a super fast 40 time and maybe jumped to top ten. For safety I'd take a good look at Adrian Amos. I think he would fit in well next to Jones. He's more of a rangy, versatile safety, which would be a good match for what we all know is a very aggressive downhill running safety. I really liked Delmas and would like to see him back for at least this season to start while Amos got ready. That is IF Delmas is ready, which is a pretty big if.

I also dont know about leaving the MLB so weak. This McCarthy fella that you have penciled in as starter didn't play at all last season and doesn't seem to have a good track record of staying on the field. Although I did see that he was the one that had that pick 6 against us in that game we've all tried to forget. I remember him balling out on us that day. But then again who didn't? If we did bring him in we better be ready to put Misi back in that spot. I just can't see tripp going fro,m no PT to starting MLB in one offeason without some serious bumps in the road. Pretty much I don't like bringing in guys with injury history on the cheap anymore. This last year killed that for me.

I like the plan though for the most part. I'd keep Shelley Smith though and I'd cut Hartline and restructure Gibson, which you said you would do too but you didn't specify which so I made the obvious choice. Gibson is a better fit. Period. And this is from a die hard Buckeyes fan.

Not bad. I think you did a nice job addressing our needs. I just would probably draft a QB rather than signing Hasselbeck.....I think Matt Moore will be let go. Devlin and a drafted rookie QB can back up Tanny. I like Waynes' speed at the Combine, but I would rather take a top WR in the first round and draft a CB like Kevin Johnson in round two.
