Patriots | T. Johnson says he is unsure about future
Sat, 10 Feb 2007 08:52:49 -0800
<A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/9">ESPN.com reports former New England Patriots LB Ted Johnson said in an interview with ESPN Friday, Feb. 9, that head coach Bill Belichick should not be blamed for Johnson practicing at full strength with a concussion during the 2002 season. "I don't want to place blame anywhere. It probably could all go around to a little bit of everybody. I can't honestly sit here and say Bill Belichick knew what second-impact syndrome was," Johnson said. Johnson added Friday, Feb. 9, that he is scared, anxious and worried about his future as he battles depression and memory loss. Johnson is showing early signs of Alzheimer's, according to his current neurologist. "Right now, I would probably describe it as a little scary, a little unsure," Johnson said. "Lot of anxiety. Lot of disappointment. Shame."

It's a sad reality that is stories like these from post-NFL'ers. We hear all the great stories or guys Deion Sanders and Dan Marino, and Steve Young...but there are a lot of guys out there that don't live a golden life once they hang it up, and it's sad.

I saw Ted play a few games at my alma mater, the Univ. of Colorado....it is sad that a lot of NFL players are permanently disabled from playing football.
