Don't know if this has been posted yet but enjoy. Respect for Saban.

``I've always believed that the better head coaches avoid micromanagement as much as possible. I've always believed that those who have had the greatest amount of success in this league have surrounded themselves with strong assistant coaches and been willing to delegate responsibilities to them. However, I can't argue with Nick Saban's insistence on being intricately involved in the coaching of Miami's secondary. Saban played defensive back at Kent State and was a secondary coach for the bulk of his lengthy career as a college assistant coach -- as well as for his first two seasons as an assistant with the Houston Oilers. It is Saban's belief that he can make a good cornerback great, and there is nothing to suggest he is kidding himself or the Dolphins. Something tells me that free-agent pickup Will Allen will make significant strides in his game this season. Something also tells me that Jason Allen, the Dolphins' first-round draft pick, will make accelerated progress as a rookie.``

We saw that example played out last year with Travis Daniels. Sure, he got a few PI calls and some other things, but last year he was a pretty good corner for a 4th round rookie.

Sorry, there was not that much more to it. But thought it was cool the way the Dolphins and Saban have been getting more respect as the year goes on. Imagine the amount of hype we will be getting when the season starts and we are winning. I don't post much, but thought this was an interesting read.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!!

That article also makes me wish we had Shawne Merriman very, very badly.

OMG could you imagine Saban getting his hands on him.

No chance in hell of that happening but it would certainly be awesome.

I know we can't get him.

I'm just saying he'd be in my top 10 of players who I want from other teams.

Read the first part of the article and you see why Saban is able to spend so much time with the defensive backs. He has one of the biggest coaching staffs in the league, with quality all over the place. Both of his coordinators are former NFL head coaches. His running backs coach is a former college coach, his linebackers coach is a former defensive coordinator, and his offensive line coach is legendary. Heck, his associate strength coach is a prolific author on the subject.

Great read.

Thanks for the article man. I have am gaining more and more confidence in our secondary, Harrington and Culpepper's knee.

I have said this time and time again that Culpepper should be a lock for the opener. He will probably not be able to move around very well, but good enough to where he can play a whole game.
