I just saw this article on ESPN, it is with Vick during the draft. I didn't see it posted anywhere here, so I wanted to share. It is a pretty good read. Seems like we got a guy with a healthy chip on his shoulder to play and compete. I didn't think he would go to the CFL, he wants to play and be great with the big boys.

While I hear what people are saying about the gangsta attitude, I think he really wants to be straight. Seemed pretty humble in the article about the character issues, pretty arrogant about the skills though. We shall see....

as long as he performs and is dependable, im glad to have him on the team. the minute he messes up or we decide someone is better off in his roster spot, so long. thats all that really matters. no one will care if he has a gangster attitude if he stays out of trouble and makes plays on the football field. hell, all it takes is a couple big plays and he'll be a star.

so true.....one juck into the endzone or hand off, bomb....and he is the new hero...

I can't complain, I'll be cheering too. How Saban turne dthe kid around. GO Phins!!

Thanks guy...good read! But you know what? I'm not sure he's grown up as much as he says he has. Everybody deserves a 2n chance...and this guy has had a few 2nds, so lets his future actions speak for himself.

WOW! I think I like him even less now. Arrogent is an understatement. He's already better than Cutler and Leinhart. And he's gonna be better than Mike. Just wow.

I can't say I have ever liked Vick. Nick seems to think theres something there so let's see what coach has in mind for the Rat er a I mean Dude.

Go Dolphins

These Vick posts are out of control.

He will be our 4th string in case of extreme emergency QB maybe 5th string, & 2nd string wideout used on gadget plays. I'll admit his time was impressive, he is very fast, but QB's don't need to be fast runners. He is probably just trade bait for next years draft & target practive for JT and the boys to track down.

Why all the excitement? It's either because of his last name, or I think there are actually people who find him more exciting because of his arrest record. :shakeno:

This guy is immensely talented and immensely troubled. I would have a one and done expectation established with him (I assume Saban already has set up)..... His viewpoints on his skills( arrogant) and associating his past troubles with "bad luck" don't bode well for change. For change to take place, one has to admit (to themselves - not in press conferences) what their flaws are, take responsibility for their past actions, and have strong determination each day to change the outlooks and expectations that have led to poor behaviors in the past.

Maybe getting cut from his college team and not being drafted will put him on this path.......only time will tell. If he does change, I for one will be surprised, pleasantly surprised. Good luck Vick.

As a Canes fan I hated him too (mostly because of his horrible personality). But Saban took him in. So I'll give him his one NFL chance.

Firstly, I have never been a Vick fan. He does have talent. He is a little ****y about that talent, though. He's good, but not that good.

I do like the fact that he apologized to the guy who was unfortunate enough to get stepped on. Vick still shouldn't have done it.

This is one of those "wait and see" deals. Let's wait and see how he reacts to the rigors of the NFL, and let's wait and see if he has truly matured.

Thanks cobra...that was obvious. I said I didn't know if it had been posted. I view Finheaven daily and hadn't read it. Have you read it before? Now that he is a dolphin, I thought it would be interesting to throw into the mix...

TC - I generally agree that the posts are out of control, but this one at least had a poiint. Not is MV gonna make it? ten differnt ways...I read an article that I thought was good, wanted to share it... IMO: I don't think he will will even be the 3rd string QB, probably special teams (maybe returner) with some WR/QB plays thrown in. The problem with Gadet plays are that you can't do them everytime he is in. So to develop them, he would have to be a pretty good reciever overtime, like Randle El. "Oh, here comes Vick..cover your guys, watch for the end around.."

M14, I watched the canes game where they totally controled him. He was very fast, but the D-was just as fast and dominant. I don't recall (and won't look up) his stats, but they weren't anything impressive.
