It bugs me at times when a player becomes a favorite of the media as in the case of Mike Vick, the self-proclaimed "best Quarterback" in the NFL....oh ok sure dude if you say so.

Many people love Vick why I am not sure but if you like or love the art of quarterbacking then you cant have much fun watching Vick play.

I know his current HC Mora Jr. claims we need to start asking when is Manning going to start doing the thinks Vick does( some times HC's try to hard to show their support of a player-remember Cowher's blind faith in Kordell Stewart?)

In all honesty I dont believe a single HC would chose Vick over Manning or even Brady for that matter.

The simple truth is that Vick is a freak of nature physically playing the QB position..but he is NOT the BEST QB in the NFL, if you want pure numbers
then look here:

Career Stats=
QB Rating Comp % TD/INT
Vick 75 53 41/32
Manning * 92.6 63.7 227/125
Brady 88.1 61.8 106-56

Career High
Vick 81.6 56 16- 8 (421 pass att)
Manning 94.7 66.3 33- 15(500 pass att)
Brady 92.6 63.9 28- 12(527 pass att)

INT is career low along with number of pass att that year...the TD/INT ratio for Career high doesnt mean that it occured in the same season.

*Mannings 1st 5 season's

So the numbers show that yes M.Vick is just an average QB---the fact is if you want a QB to led your team and be a passing threat then look elsewhere because Vick simply is an athelete playing QB.

Again the media generates many athletic stars and Vick is an example I dont feel he is a QB that will ever attain greatness or team sucsess because he already is thinking in terms of "HE" do you ever hear Manning or Brady claiming to be the "best"? no unless you are talking TEAM.

I agree, there is no way that Vick is better than Peyton Manning. That's just crazy talk. Manning understands football on a level that only a few players ever have in the history of the game.

However, you use the term "QB" when what you're actually saying is "passer". Vick will never be a great passer, imo, because of his height, not because of things he can control. However, he very much is among the top three QBs in this league easy...

I think the media confuses the most exciting QB with the best QB....Vick is probably by far the most exciting in the way he can break a run for 85 yards and can outrun everyone, but if you are talking the best it is either Manning or Brady.

Only thing Vick is good is in Madden...i am unstoppable with Falcons...

how is vick exciting? i'm the only person alive that doesn't find a guy who can't read a defense and overthrows guys consistently to be exciting

he's not half the QB manning is, and isn't a 10th of what brady is

You want media darling.

Tedy Bruschi.

Big difference. Bruschi is one of the best playmaking LBs in the league. The media is all abuzz about him because he chose to unretire and help his team, despite some health risks.

There's a big difference between Bruschi and a VD carrying athlete who loves himself almost as much as the advertisers do.

A QB's primary job is to pass the football. If not, every team would put a WR or RB in at QB and run the option. He's not anywhere close to a top 3 QB and if he is then that as an indictment of the QB position in 2005.
In the mid 80's and early 90's we had Marino, Elway, Montana, Moon, Kelly, Esiason, O'Brien, Kosar, Grogan (before knees gave out). All of whom were real QB's and all of which I would take over Vick.

Bruschi was named defensive player of the week because he recorded ten tackles. Zach Thomas gets ten tackles in one quarter. Whatever is going on in his personal life is really his deal, I don't think he's a hero because he was cleared medically by four doctors. He should have never gotten voted defensive player of the week, it's just that the media loves cramming the patriots down everyone's throats until people start glorifying him.
As for Vick being narcissistic... What are you basing that on? You make it sound like he has his face printed on every billboard and small child in America. The guy's easily marketable because he's an exciting player.

Ron Mexico=Media darling???

As the captain of a team, a QB's job is to lead and to win. Vick does that, and his team wins when he plays. Case closed.

I wonder if Vick is ever gonna cut his hair because we all know hes never gonna win a superbowl
