If we could get Vick at the minimun and have him as the #3 with Lemon as #2 do we really want an expensive back up? Harrington has never done anything to show us his 3rd overall pick potential, hes not a leader, and I have herad stories of him crying. If Saban can whip Vick into a good guy, then what do you think?

What has Lemon ever done as an NFL player? "great" quarterback, but he is a lot better then trusting a guy who has never taken a NFL snap(Lemon) and a UDFA who wasn't even a star in college(Vick).

If you think Lemon or Vick are going to be the backups behind Culpepper, you are sadly mistaken. Harrington is coming here and even if some odd force of nature keeps Harrington from signing here, someone like Maddox will be signed before handing the reigns over to Lemon.

*sighs* Vick is a developmental pick at best. He'll be #4 is he's signed at all and then shipped to Europe once their season starts.

Vick is practice squad material at best, Lemon, he is a good clip board holder, thats about it. We NEED a quality back up who has taken NFL snaps as a starter.

=/.. You got to be kidding me. All QB's cry; guess what? Peyton Manning probably cried when he lost against the Steelers last postseason. It's called, being human.

I don't think 2 Mil a year for a backup QB is expensive. Even if he has not shown much in Detroit, he has still shown more than Lemon or Vick has.

Wouldn't you cry if you had to stay in Detroit with Matt Millen as your GM?

i would rather vick than harrington when it comes to the future of our team. But footballs all about the next season. Straight up i think vick will be a better qb than harrington ever will be. But vick cannot take our backup role no way. I would trust Harrington more for next season than vick. But i think what id like the most is sign Tommy Maddox and Vick for next season. Thoughts?

No dude, the point of Harrington is to have a back up with starter experience.

Or, for that matter, Vick.

I take it that you were talking about Harrington at the beginning of this sentence.

After watching him in Pittsburgh the past two years when Big Ben went down...I'd have to say no. His arm strength is not much better than Berlin's.

There is a reason Vick was not drafted. Actually 2 - he is a thug and he sucks as a QB! IF he makes the practice squad it's as a WR - simple as that. The guy has no head to be the leader of a team who's coach is on a mission to go to the SB. This team is on the way up and this guy is no upgrade at QB. To say he is better than Harrington is ridiculous. Nobody wanted to touch Vick - he isn't even signed as a UDFA!

:shakeno:

1. A grown man crying, contrary to machismo belief, does not diminish him as a man.

2. Harrington will not be "expensive" because the contract Miami ironed out with him if he signs is much more affordable than what he's making in Detroit if he stays past June 15th.

3. You're really implying Vick would be a better leader than Harrington? I would rather have Hamburglar from McDonald's behind center than Michael Vick.

AMEN Brother..the people who think Vick is anything but a #3 or #4 at best at this moment are just kidding themselves.Under NO circumstances do we go into this season with Lemon or Vick as our backups.
