He has better speed than most DT's and he can rush/pressure the QB. We need another DE and Vickerson could slide right into a backup position behind Roth. Just an idea because of Bowens being a UFA and am glad that Vickerson is back on the roster for the Fins.:dolphins::ninja::dolphins:

Rod Wright could also be moved to defensive end. I think he could be a better DE then DT in the pros. He was said to have weighed 297 pounds at the end of the 2006 season. At 6'5" 297 that's the perfect size for left defensive end.

interesting idea also.:dolphins:

I think we signed Rod Wright as a defensive end anyway. A lot of people have us drafting Amobi Okoye, if we get him I bet he shifts to DE also.

Vickerson and Wright both have the numbers you look for (size, speed, strength) but to this point both have fallen short when it comes to desire. If they could tap into Matt Roth's limitless pool of desire, drive and motivation they could be world beaters.

If we are shifting to almost a true 3-4 this year, then why would we need all the DE's ? In the 3-4, are not your outside line guys more like tackles than ends? And your biggest guy obviously is the NT. I think we are pretty set at the up front 3 guys and since we got our LB, let's get some depth at DB either the draft or F/A (I know there's not much left out there, but possibly some depth).

They moved him last year to DE before finally putting him on IR if anyone cares or remembers. I agree that Wright would be a great addition at DE rather than DT. Vickerson should probably stay at DT and play behind Holliday and should have the same role as Holliday if he plays, which would mean a possible switch to DE from time to time. Vickerson has alot of potential but hasn't been healthy enough to prove himself. He reminds me alot of Bell who couldn't get healthy enough to make an impact but when he did he was a very good player.
