So now that a few guys have either explicitly or apparently eliminated from contention from the job -- looking at you, Tom Gamble, Alonzo Highsmith, Marc Ross and George Paton (at least, I don't think Ross interviewed him. He didn't interview, right?) -- it's time to update this thread. Most significantly, it's time to add Brian Xanders to this thread.
Brian Xanders
There are a lot of Brian Xanders videos on the Denver Broncos website. I have watched about an hour of them now and am pretty much ready to stop watching Brian Xanders talk. Not that I dislike him, not at all. He actually comes off as a very agreeable guy, willing to work with others and not have to be the Big Brain in the room on all things scouting. For anyone who's spent as much time around Jeff Ireland as the people in the Dolphins' organization have, that's going to be a very appealing trait.
Unfortunately when you watch these videos you realize he has a particular scouting system that he employs (combining traditional scouting with analytics, apparently), which means even if we hire him we're probably not going to see the results out of him year one that the Broncos saw his last several years there and the Lions -- who hired Xanders to remake their scouting department -- saw this year.
Here's the link to all of the Xanders videos on denverbroncos.com for those who want to be more comprehensive: http://www.denverbroncos.com/search-results?&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&q=xanders&mediatype=Video&start=0
