Vikings and Bears rumored to be interested in Vernon Carey

I think we would have tagged him if we liked him that much(especially considering he can play LT in a pinch)

Sparano was in Nfl Total access today and said that there wont be any tags for Crowder, Carey, or Bell. So I dunno?
 
they need to sign him now. he can ply RT, LT, and C. very valuable. he will be taken in no time in FA. i would lose alot of faith in the FO if they let carey and bell walk.
 
Its funny as the Bears have had some success w/ St Clair who washed out as both an ORT & OLT w/ the phins.

Further the irony, it would have been real hilarious if Miami franchised Carey Miami was able to fleece Spielman and the Vikes for say a 1st and 4th rd pick

They have a much better coaching staff than we did when we had St Clair.. Especially offensive line wise.

If we replace them and sign three players who will play in the same capacity they did, we will not recieve any comp picks for Carey Crowder or Bell

Trust, he's asking to be overpaid and I respect the regime on this one. A comparable player can be had at a lesser price, or even a better player in the draft. Look for Loadholt in the 2nd. With some technique he could be on Carey's level his rookie season and surpass him in 2010. One step back to take, a leap or two forward.

With John Tait retiring don't be surprised if the Bears get into the Carey sweepstakes.

They need a RT.
