Edwards is now free to go to the Chiefs and the Vikings have signed Childress.
I thought Linehan was a popular option in Minnesota so that worry is now gone for those that one to keep him.

Herman Edwards cleaned out his office Thursday and was waiting to speak to Chiefs president/general manager Carl Peterson later in the night, a source close to the situation said. Edwards' five-year run with the New York Jets is over, one day after the Chiefs were negotiating to bring him to Kansas City, nearly one week after coach Dick Vermeil announced his retirement.

Did he clean out his office for the year-end, or permanently? I don't think it's normal to empty it in the offseason...still, no official word (according to Google News, anyway)

Okay not get this....Miami will play 7 games next year with New Head Coaches....Jets (2)....Packers...Lions...Vikings...Houston...and KC.....Not only that....But will will Probably play against ....Bush...Whoever the Jets take at #4 and of course Pack at #5.

Can you blame Edwards for wanting out? It's a sinking ship and he knows it! Martin is almost old enough to collect his pension, Pennington has an arm like Danny Wurffel at best, and the rest of the team is garbage...

Vilma and Abraham are not garbage....

no, you're right. I was just making a point that it's a sinking ship. they have a few quality guys (as all franchises do)

Maybe Edwards will be able to lure Abraham and Vilma to the Chiefs!

The Jets organization is the pits, always has been always will. I was hoping the lousy Herman would stick around for another couple of years.
