I blame it on Saban and the doctors more than i blame it on Mueller. Saban is the one who stated "It was too good of an oppotunity to pass up" and made the trade for Culpepper only after not being able to come up with a contract agreement with Brees. The team doctors did their jobs and they did it correctly. IMO their assesment was right when it came to the two players from a medical standpoint. The problem i have is with Saban's judgement on Dante Culpepper because he didn't realize how much of Dante's game is attached to his ability to scramble. Brees hurts his shoulder and alters his game by using a throwing motion that uses his legs more. Dante however didn't change his game and still tried to scramble and throw balls up as if he still had Moss. Mueller has said it before that he was used mostly as a consultant as opposed to actually having GM responsibilties. You can tell because of the difference in drafting styles between Saban and Mueller. When Mueller runs the show we have 10 new players who already shows signs of contributing but with Saban his whole draft class last year didn't see the field as starters.
