this is a quote from a writer/radio host in Central Florida named Heath Cline...
I'm getting a lot of emails on this Chris Leak Wonderlic situation. It's unfortunate he's being portayed around the web as an idiot right now, so I thought I'd post the facts here and then whoever has time to straighten people out on various boards can copy and paste or link it to here.
Here's the response I got back from the gentleman on whose site Leak's reported score of 8 appears when I asked him where it came from...
It is my understanding that this is from the campus agility tests, which I assume is the 2006 pro day on campus. The score was obtained from nfldraftscout.com. I believe the score is probably legit given Leak probably did not prepare for the Wonderlic since he had no real incentive to. I'm sure he will fare better at the combine. I am enclosing the section of his bio where I found the score. Note the 8/12 score means he answered 8 of 12 correctly. This shows much more room for improvement than an 8/30, which would lead one to believe he is simply guessing more or less at random.

Agility Tests
Campus: 4.66 in the 40-yard dash…300-pound bench press…Bench presses 225 pounds 10 times…400-pound squat…31-inch vertical jump…9'5" broad jump…4.24 20-yard shuttle…30 3/8-inch arm length…9 3/8-inch hands…Right-handed…8/12 Wonderlic score.
I'm sure Mac didn't intend for Leak to be portrayed negatively, but omitting the fact in his table of scores at
www.macmirabile.com/Wonderlic.htm that Leak's score was out of a total of 12 questions has resulted in people drawing unfortunate assumptions. It's unfair to the kid, and I hope people grasp that. The fact Travis mentioned it in his guest segment on my show Friday from Indy as being talked about at the NFL Combine indicates that they likely don't however. Feel free to enlighten them.
End the false reporting please........
