I'm not mad at Ricky. Maybe it comes from the perspective of growing up with a mother who was an alcoholic who never got a handle on her problem until she went to rehab. But I really feel bad for Ricky and hope he gets some help.

Now we all know Ricky has had some psychological/emotional problems ever since he came into the league. Whether he was conducting interviews with his helmet on or posing for magazine covers in a dress, something just wasn't right with the guy. I know he was diagnosed with social anxiety disorder, but we don't know what other problems he had. Could have been depression or any one of a number of other conditions. What we do know he has is an addiction.

Smoking marijuana was more important to Ricky Williams than being an All-Pro running back in the NFL. Think about that for a second. Think of all the guys on these message boards who would love nothing more than to have the physical skills that Ricky has and have a chance to play football for a living. It's not as important to him as smoking. This guy is addicted to drugs and he needs help.

Fellow Fin Fans, cast aside your anger with Ricky and join me in hoping that he gets better. I hear things like "he was selfish" and much worse and I just don't think that's fair. If anyone here has been addicted to anything before, you know what it's like. I personally haven't, but I have seen someone I love go down the same path, and I don't hold it against her. Let's not hold Ricky to a different standard than any other addict in the world.

I am not mad at Ricky either. I mainly feel sorry for him. He has really wasted what could and should have been a hall of fame career. Hopefully he can still play 2-3 more years....he will only be 30 in next year's training camp....I just don't know if he will ever play for the Phins again.

i definitely have and will feel remorse for Ricky and i think Saban and maybe some Dolphins players have the same feelings of remorse

it really is a shame i would like to really know what the truth is... i wonder if ricky will do an interview again and tell the truth like he did about smokin...if not now that their is a ruling will the truth become public

I think Ricky is a beautiful guy and is just a little misunderstood. He is looking for spiritual enlightenment in his life, and hopefully one day it will lead him back to the football field. It would be a shame to waste that much talent when there are many people(including me) that would kill to have his abilities.

I cant say that i'm mad at him. I still look forward to seeing him play for us next year if he decides to do so. But its just disappointing to see someone you want to succeed with such talent make wrong decisions that affects so many people.

That's cool that you guys feel the same way. It seems like everyone is so quick to judge the guy when we really don't know that much about him.

ricky should have just figured out a way to pass all his tests like every other habitual marijuana smoker. it's a shame that he has to be banished from the league for marijuana. i don't see any harm in any player smoking vs going and drinking and driving around town putting lives at risk. if ricky had a dui and killed someone, his lawyer would get him out of it and he'd still be playing. instead, ricky smokes some weed and is out for a year. i dont' get it.

Did they release the drug Ricky tested positive for yet?

Well, I don't think this last test was marijuana but I agree with your point of view. I wanted him to come back clean and amaze us, but that's not the way things worked out. I hope he straightens himself out and, maybe with some help, he might be able to play again.

IMO, pi$s on Ricky Williams. What little he has done that was positive for the Miami Dolphins is severely outweighed by all of the failure he has caused us! Also...WE DON'T NEED HIM! The only reason I hoped Ricky won his appeal was to trade him all along for a 2nd round pick. The Miami Dolphins don't have a problem, Ricky Williams has a problem and it is his own responsibility to fix it. Ronnie Brown is more than ready to carry the load for us. That's why we drafted him #2 overall.

Not completly true. While some guys have gotten off on some offenses that probably could not be proven in court. If you remember Cecil Collins another #34 we had at running back went to jail and went directly to jail. And he did not pass go. All for breaking in to someone's house and getting caught trying to steal.

LMAO bro this thread had nothing to do with us needing him or not. I agree that we don't need him but he was definitely a solid player for our team. I am excited to see Ronnie take over as the primary back also. I was just commenting on the situation from a different perspective.
