While i know it is early to compare these guys play wise to guys in the league (or recently in the league) i would like to know who these guys remind you of. Measurable (size, strength, speed) and talent (ball skills, field vision) wise.

I know it will be awhile before we know how well they pan out but as of this moment who do they remind you of.

Vontae Davis seems like Sam Madison with his running mouth (in a good kind of football mentality)
Sean Smith is uniquely gifted with his size and ability. Not sure who he reminds me of. But I think he will be great!

Sean Smith = Bobby Taylor

Vontae Davis = his ceiling is a bigger version of Antoine Winfield

Sean Smith kinda reminds me of Namdi with his measurables.. and I'm hoping Vontae can be our bigger, faster, stronger Antoine Windfield.. but they play alike in terms of physicality

Why can't they just be Davis and Smith?

Because it's fun visualizing them as Taylor and Winfield until they actually become Taylor and Winfield version 2.0.

And in this league with so many players having similar strengths and weaknesses, it's silly to think that many players aren't alike with their game, and what they bring to the field.

And then when you dig through the great history of the NFL, there are even more comparisons. Even Mayock compared Sean Smith to the great hall-of-famer Mel Blount.

Pay more attention to the draft, these types of comparisons happen on a constant level. It's part of what makes it fun for us as fans, as sports is for entertainment purposes after all.

If everything goes according to plan, they will soon enough.

When I look at Sean Smith's size I think of Mel Blount right off the bat. Yeah I know I might be getting ahead of myself.

Mel blount is a hall of famer.
