It hasn't taken Vontae Davis long to make an impression on one of his more outgoing Dolphins teammates.

"He's so loud and crazy," linebacker Channing Crowder says of the rookie cornerback out of Illinois.

"There's something wrong with him. He doesn't have all his bullets. He's a different individual."

Coming from Crowder, that's meant as a compliment.

And just imagine how loud Davis will be once the first-round draft pick truly starts getting comfortable in his new surroundings.

After the kid makes a pro bowl or two he can chirp all he wants. Until then shut the **** up and learn the position.

You are completely wrong, I want my DBs with a ton of confidence. If he gets burned he will come back and fight harder.

JA is a quiet DB, we see how that worked.

You can be perfectly confident and not act like a punk. The under lying point in that article that concerns me is the fact that Davis supposedly stated in the 4th quarter that “he was going to the league” when what he should have been doing was getting in his receivers head and getting a pick if possible to turn the game around.

I don’t care if you beat me down with a bat you better make damn sure I don’t ever get back up or I will punch you in the ****ing mouth. That’s the attitude I want the Dolphins to have, not the, if I perform I will get the paycheck and disappear.

I like the kid so far but he has a lot to prove first.

you need ****y, arrogant SOBes to play WR and CB, it's just the way it is

vontae talking smack already is music to my ear

I could'nt really care what type of personality a player has, as long as it does'nt damage team spirit and they give everything for the team.

Some of you just dont get it.
What you want the NY Halem Choir in the secondary????
Every player talks out on the field. NATURE OF THE GAME.
Some players take it to the Media like JP but on the field is perfectly fine.
I don't want church Mice out there running around tryign to make plays.
GIVE ME BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marvin Harrison just called: "Shut up!"
Nhamdi Asomugha (Oakland) doesn't talk smack.
I hope we never have a WR like T.O. or Ocho Cinco. Those guys are all about self-promotion. Football is a team game and fortunately, the Trifecta likes "lunchpail" guys.

The best thing for Vontae will be competing against Sean Smith for the coveted starting job. And likewise for Smith. I like the confidence and attitude both have shown so far.

Well, he proved it all through college while he was talking the whole time, so if it works for him, I say go for it. I highly doubt if we're down by 21 in the 4th he's going to be trash talking... I guess what I'm saying is, don't let that sway your opinion on what type of player he is just because he talks a lot... there's people like Ochocinco who talk, and there's people like Ray Lewis who talk... and there's clearly a difference.

What makes me eager to see him is the last part of that article in which he's quoted as saying:

"I just like having fun on the field," Davis says. "It's positive. It's something I love doing. I just love playing football."

Sounds like the a pretty good attitude to me.

oh lord... some of yal take things too seriously. The man is enjoying what he's doing. He talks alot on the field... so what? Have you ever heard NFL game sound bytes? EVERYONE is talking on the field. Football is a game... its about having fun as well. Give the dude a break. Its not like hes pulling a Bart Scott right now... hes just doing some talking on the field. Thats the type of person he is.. and as long as he is doing his job at cornerback... I don't care what comes out of his mouth.

Its funny because some people on this site that criticize Vontae for talking alot.... are the ones talking alot of smack to other people who post on here. ITS A MESSAGE BOARD... and your saying he needs to shut up cuz he talks during a physical battle with another player? Forreal thats what i call hypocracy.

So because he has a loud and crazy personality that immediately means he's overly confident? Get the **** outta here. Crowder's simple saying he's crazy and loud. Nowhere in that insert did it say differently.
