Thats why he is on the ALL ROOKIE team and not the ALL PRO team. He was a rookie and had to take his lumps over the course of the season.

There aren't that many rookies to choose from.

I think Rey would have played inside for us, next to Crowder . . . which would have been temporary, until we draft a better coverage ILB like McClain or Weatherspoon in this draft.

With Rey flying around a solid rookie ILB next to him, our LB core would be kinda of nice right now.

We would have had to trade up for Rey in round 2, I don't know if I take Rey over Vontae, I think Vontae is a diamond in the rough.

Looking back, it would have been ideal to trade even a 2nd and a 3rd to move up to take Maulaauga. Oh well.

Rey Rey fell because he's got some maturity issues, and is a free lancer at LB. Him going to Cincy in a 4-3 was probably best for him because Mike Zimmer's defense allows him to roam.

Don't agree, OLBs we have are aging and the team handled Roth poorly. Couple that with the fact that we could've kept Goodman who was solid for us, and SHOULD'VE kept him... And yeah, would've been better off taking Matthews. Vontae certainly is a good player, but Matthews had about 10 sacks as a rookie. We didn't have one player with 10 sacks.
