WADDLE & ACHANE: Reasonable draft pick compensation?

If you don’t have eyes or a brain then I can’t really help you. Rb is heavily influenced by their oline and Achane has by far the worst putting up these numbers with maybe the worst line in the league. This is an actual hole Jonathan Taylor ran through this year by the way

Again, let's see who the pros select for the Pro Bowl. Will I need to remind you to post a mea culpa, or will you remember to do that all on your own?

Yeah pro bowl should definitely the deciding factor…. Or hear me out, most fans are dumb like yourself and don’t think about situations that heavily impact play.

Tua statistically is a top 10 qb from 2022 to 2024 so are you in the opinion that we shouldn’t give up on him in hopes he returns to form or are you of the opinion that maybe just maybe stats aren’t everything and there’s possibly other factors to think about? Or do we only pick and choose when stats are the end all be all?

If I had to guess, I would think their values are very similar.

On the low end a 2nd
On the high end a late 1st, like the Chiefs, Bills, Rams type pick.

Waddle is worth a 1st. Not 2 1sts like if he was franchised....just 1 1st rd pick....

Now Achane, I'd say he's a good back....but RBs aren't as valuable as they used to be so 3rd rd would be a win....IF you even want to get rid of him because here I don't see the point ...you get a 3rd and then need a rb so you waste a.....3rd again?

If this is another thread where fans overrate their own favorite players, then why not multiple first rounders for both? Shoot for the moon.

I boils down to two simple questions, 1) are you creating more of a need than you can fill with the compensation received and 2) if so can you fill a larger team need with the compensation you got in return?

Waddle is no less than a 1st and maybe a 2027 later round pick, if he is worth that, you can debate until the cows come home but the team doesn't have to sell so why give away a star for cheap.

Achane is a running back, there will be another one of him next year and teams know this, again, no need to give him away so unless it's a McCaffery type trade, no dice.

I wouldnt trade either for less than a first round pick.

The problem with Achane isnt what he is worth, it is what are you willing to pay him? He will be due a payday and if we are going to lose him anyway? Yeah, maybe you take the second. But if they want to keep a fan favorite, they are going to have to pay him around 12m/year. Do you want to do that in a rebuild? I dont think so.

No it will not. That's not a factual decision. That is a political decision to string along the team and the fans. That guy was fired.
How do long do you think it will take to secure 3/5ths of an offensive line, another good starting defensive tackle, a defensive end to replace Philips, most of a new secondary, a number one wide receiver, and a starting quarterback? This can be done and the Dolphins can be in Super Bowl contention in three years or less?

One offseason

12 million aint **** for great player like Achane. Pay the man. You cant go wrong.

Nothing anyone would reasonably offer. Have the Fins made a good trade since Trace Armstrong 30 years ago? How'd Ricky Williams work out? We traded for Culpepper when we could have signed Brees. Tunsil trade? Although not a trade the Welker RFA deal still bothers me.

Id pay him if we weren't rebuilding. But in a rebuild? You are paying him to lose and when we can finally start winning his legs will be shot.

It doesn't make sense to pay a RB during a rebuild

The main problem is Tua salary in Miami. If they trying trade good players to cut Tua next yr. Than I am ok w letting Achane and Waddle go.
I dont see problem keeping him here. He is still cheap both of them.
