Waddle got the call five minutes before he was picked by Miami he had already celebrated with his loved ones and friends. That’s why When he was picked he just walked out! That’s cool cause I thought he was like see ya!! Or maybe just nervous. This draft was an A in my book!! Let’s go Miami!

Just saw Waddle's interview on NFLN. Sounds like a good guy, soft spoken and even said Thank you at the end.
All of the guys that we drafted are like this. I saw the Holland, Long, and Eichenberg interviews, and all three were smart... smart! Well spoken guys...

We are drafting for skills... AND intelligence/character.

I was being sarcastic cause of people calling him just a slot WR as if that makes him a bad player. I'm pretty sure the teams that played bama didn't say, "no need to worry about Waddle cause he's just a slot"
I got it Danny. They complain because they have nothing else to do.

If Waddle didn't get hurt, we would have stayed at 3 to get him and Smith wouldn't have won the Heisman.

First of all you missed the point of the thread, but let me address the inane point you were trying to make. Do you consider Tyreek Hill a slot receiver? I will celebrate that type of talent all day every day.
I think a lot of ppl are operating under the assumption that the "slot" position hasn't evolved over the last 15 years.

In its current iteration, the slot is just another area of the field to create mismatches.

In the past you didn't see TEs (or flanker for that matter) lining up all over the place like today.

Totally different now, with multiple alignments from the same personell, presnap movement of unlimited variations, package subs, etc.

Waddle isn't your typical slot to begin with, but even if that is where he is most effective, what difference does it make?

A TD from the slot counts just as much as one from wide. A 1st down conversion from the slot moves the chains, same as a slant from a flanker.

Some ppl live in the past. Some embrace the future.
