If Albert Wilson can get back to his pre-injury 2019 form when he led the league in YAC, putting him in the slot with Waddle outside could be a potent combo. … Especially when you add Gesicki into the mix. …Of course a better pass and run blocking couldn’t hurt…

Waddle is not gonna get back to pre-injury form. I've suffered the same injury he had to both hips. You don't just run like you're shot out of a cannon after that anymore.
(Obviously you mean Wilson)

With today’s top-of-the-line sports medical technology, I’ll bet he can get close. He looked pretty close against the ravens. Closer than I ever thought he would get.

On the potential long TD throw and catch from Tua. You could tell there was an extra gear that wasn't there to outrun the safety coming at an angle for a TD.

You knew if it were Grant(assuming he caught the ball or didn't trip all over himself) or even Waddle or heck even Kenny Stills it likely would have been a TD.

Thanks, fixed that.

It's not a matter of technology. In fact, Wilson didn't even have surgery, just rehab. One of my hips has been fixed surgically, the other not. The one that's not been operated on is like walking around with a hole in the top of my leg all the time. I can't lift or move my leg the wrong way without aggravating it. But my surgically repaired hip has its own issues as well, which is why even high level athletes can opt to go without surgery.

Hip issues have ruined many a modern athlete's career. There is no way that one tears their labrum and doesn't lose a step.

Back in 2018 there really wasn't a difference when Wilson or Grant touched the ball, either one of them was clearly the fastest guy on the field (except when they were on the field together). That blazing speed isn't there anymore, even though Wilson had enough speed to spare that he isn't necessarily slow.

While he may never have the same speed as he once had, the vision and shiftiness he showed against the Ravens, even at 85% of his prior speed, I would take over Grant any day.

As would I. Grant's penchant for fumbles basically undid any good he had as a returner, and he was useless on offense as he couldn't catch passes and his shovel passes/jet sweeps were basically telegraphed and stuffed.

Wilson can at least contribute on offense. I made a dedicated thread about it. I just have no illusions about him regaining his prior physical ability.

I noticed Wilson has gotten some of his "shiftiness" back finally. Hopefully he plays like he did prior to the injury down the stretch, with the Fuller experiment over we need some healthy WRs out there (Parker ain't ever gonna be it).

When he shifted like that i got scared because if i recall correctly that's how he messed up his hip.

Also i wished he continued to run down the sideline full speed forcing the Safety to pursuit him at that high speed and THEN at the last second cut across the his face. Essentially cutting on a dime and daring the Safety coming at full speed to match.

Agree. He doesn't have to be a big part of the O. He just needs to force the D to worry about someone other than Gesicki/ Waddle. Getting DVP back will make it even more interesting

He just never been the same. At the time in 2018 saying we might have come out better with replacing Landry with Wilson which is what Gase did.

Hip injury changed it totally. Never the same.

Also for all of Gase warts. That was huge injury for his offense. He knew how to use Wilson.
Honestly this was the first time under Flores that I thought we used Wilson correctly. Screens. And even hand offs. Short dumb offs with a blocker. That is how you use Wilson. This was first time I saw that since 2018. They should watch some tape of how he was used back then.
