My hope and belief is we wait until the second round to draft our future QB. First of all, I don't think Quinn will be available, and if he was we have other glaring needs to fill. Either Beck, Edwards, and Stanton should be there for the pickings and each of them are no further than a gnats hair below Quinn in talent.

Randy's been in love with Quinn since last year. Think about it, they scouted the hell out of him last year, and didn't get him because he decided to stay. This year, they scout him again and bring in his personal trainer to be the QB coach. Think about the cost of doing this. We wouldn't spend more money this year scouting someone we already scouted last year unless we really want him. We have gathered an enormous amount of picks this year, and I honestly believe we'll make a run at Quinn if he makes it past Cleveland, and that's a gamble in it's own right. Hell, the Dolphins called Quinn to make sure they have all his numbers for today, what does that tell you? If Quinn is who Randy and Cam want, go get him, don't miss out on him like all of our previous coaches did.

Quote:The Dolphins' call to Quinn -- to make sure they have all his contact numbers -- isn't necessarily standard protocol. Running back Adrian Peterson, who could slide to No. 9 because of a collarbone injury, said he didn't get a call from Miami

You say take either stanton or edwards or beck in the second round!

If it was that easy we would't have been in QB HELL for the last decade.

There is a reason why we have had to watch feidler, lucas etc.

So what, each NFL team has a ton of scouts.. Of course a team is going to scout a sure early first rounder.. There is nothing out of the ordinary about that .. As a matter of fact, it's standard procedure..

and bring in his personal trainer to be the QB coach.

So what, he was probably just qualified for the job.. What about the running backs coach we just hired , what conspiracy theory are you going with on that one ?? Or have you not put any thought into the possibilities because your head is continuously wrapped around wanting Quinn 24/7 .

Think about the cost of doing this

Actually, it wouldn't cost that much .. The team has an allocated number to spend on scouting which they expect to spend all of every year ..

We wouldn't spend more money this year scouting someone we already scouted last year unless we really want him.

I'm not saying Miami doesn't want him, but you are really reaching if you think scouting is not standard procedure for every top prospect in any year.. Like I said, teams have a ton of scouts that go to alot of places every year.. All because you want Quinn, you are looking that he was scouted repeatedly by Miami, well there are a heck of alot of other players that have been repeatedly scouted by Miami as well..

We have gathered an enormous amount of picks this year

An enormous amount ?? Half of our picks are in the 6th and 7th round !!, Miami does not have an enormous amount of quality picks.. Miami has 5 picks in the first 5 rounds.. That's hardly an emormous number ..

The best thing for Miami to do would be to forget about Quinn and trade down so WE CAN have an enourmous amount of picks.. Trade the 9 and move down and get an additional 2nd and 3rd rounder,,

That would mean we can have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds.. now THAT is an enourmous amount of picks.. And what we need to fix all the holes on the dolphins team .

That strategy works for me too........as long as we get a good young QB to groom behind Green/Culpepper.

But the point is moot if Cleveland takes Quinn.
