Never say die
A Porpoise Driven Life....
Has anyone (everyone) noticed that Wallace tries to catch everything into his body? Granted the deep routes are more than often underthown, but Wallace NEVER goes up and extends his arms for the ball. He absolutely lacks the ability or at least the desire to compete for passes that aren't in his chest. He plays too tight as if he's expecting to be blown up and therefore only plays the ball close to his body.
The short timing routes to the outside worked because the passes were basically planted in his chest.
Of course, it seems anytime he does have to reach for a pass he either chooses not to, or, he folds the ball up! His hands don't seem to work very well in conjunction with one another.
Terrible eye hand coordination....
And frankly if it wasn't for the money we have extended to him I'd like to see M. Moore given additional opportunities. That, of course won't happen because it would cause a ****storm from the press collaborating to scream about yet another miss.
The other thing we've been missing is T-Hill extending plays in order for Wallace to create space when the plays broken down. I'd bet that a large percentage of Wallace's yards in previous years came from time Ben bought in extending the play. You'd think we could design such plays! Roll-outs with drags from the opposite side etc..
Overall I'm equally disappointed in our ability to extend a play to get the ball to him in open space but just as much disappointed in Wallace's ball skills.
