At this point that's the best move. We don't gain enough from cutting Wallace or trading him at this point. Staying put at 14 or trading up a few spots to get a big outside receiver who can high point a Tannehill under-throw would be the best move. Kevin White or Devante Parker would fit best! I've watched a lot of Cooper and he's a "run under the football" type of receiver which doesn't mesh well with Tannehill (as we can see from the Tanne-Wallace connection). With Hartline and Gibson getting cut we know for sure the position will be addressed in the draft. I'd also like us to bring in a experienced WR in free agency that can mentor the younger WR's. Some guys just aren't built for setting a good example and mentoring younger players, Wallace isn't the guy.

Kind of looks like Wallace wants out if you ask me, don't know

He might, but he also needs to be at his best this season if he wants another big payday . . . . so Miami needs to take advantage of that.

Just because a guy "may not" want to be here, doesn't mean you have to be a genie and grant his wish.

Wallace is VERY cuttable next year and the contract is much more pro dolphin next year when you cut him . . . . so Wallace could be looking for work. It certainly would help him if he had a nice 2015 season under his belt and hey, maybe we even keep him if he steps his game up.

I'm betting Wallace goes AND we do not draft a WR at 1.

june 1st or designation. end of story.

Problem with June 1st is, you still have cap being moved to 2016 in that situation and "these sources" are saying Tannenbaum wants 2016 to be his "splash" year.

Plus Miami needs that money now, not after the free agency market dries up. They aren't going to wait for June, at least I don't believe so.

You cut him, you are taking $9 million in dead cap, one way or the other.

With Hartline and Gibson gone, that makes Wallace a sure bet to stay. Drafting another quality WR and signing some different FA's is long over due.
I do not think we draft a WR at #1, probably in round 2-4. With Wallace here, we are looking for tall rangy red zone guys, and another high effort guy like Landry.

Run defense is poor. Need to control LOS to win consistently in the NFL. Malcolm Brown should be the pick, if he's still on the board at 14.

Wide receiver has to be a strong consideration, especially if DaVante Parker makes it to #14. I think the team may even consider Dorial Green-Beckham. There simply aren't many wide receivers on planet earth who are 6-6 and run a 4.4 with the athletic ability that DGB possesses. We all know about the red-flags, but reports of him maturing if true are a good sign. Another option could be a slight trade down for Jalen Strong, who is growing on me. Think a more athletic Oronde Gadsden.

I think that is a bigger possibility. Might be hard to fill the DT need in free agency. Brown is very good.

i'm ok with receiver first round but it will probably be a second rounder..... and i don't care if wallace stays or goes, not like ryan can throw a deep ball

agree here...unless we get a high level guy in FA with true size who can demand a double team, we may draft a MLB if we scoot back a few picks...DT LB or OG regardless of wallace

How did receiver suddenly become a top priority? We have so many needs at LB and OL and DL and we've created this hole so suddenly. One foot forward tow steps back.

Apparently, the team is comfortable with our defensive players from last year.:titanic:
I do not know if I can watch another season of this defense.
