Miami Dolphins: Alex Mack, C, California

The Dolphins can take care of a huge hole at left guard by drafting a center here. Confused?

Justin Smiley stinks. He's always hurt. ALWAYS. He missed eight games in 2007. This year, it was a broken leg, torn ankle ligaments and shoulder surgery. He's way too unreliable, and his absence was a major reason why the Dolphins were debacled by the Ravens in the Doggone Playoff.

The best interior lineman at this spot is Alex Mack. With Mack at center, the Dolphins can slide Samson Satele over to guard.

This would make a lot of sense to me. Satele just doesn't have the size and strength to move the better NT's out of the way. Hopefully Smiley can overcome his brittleness. I also like Duke Robinson, LG, Oklahoma. We can then look at a LB/CB or WR in Rounds 2 and 3.

I like Mack alot and would be ok with that pick.

If those were our first 3 rounds though, that would be AMAZING!!

Is "debacled" a word?

No I don't think it is a word, but the draft blogger guy just wanted to describe the whupping the Ravens put on us. I think Chad was to blame more than our O-line in this game, as he tried to do too much, but we would have been nowhere without him at QB.

 I did laugh...And it's pretty accurate. I'm useing it from now on.

"ND got debacled into Ronnie Brown by Ngata"

I'm pretty sure its one Emmit Smith made up

and if the draft panned out that way i'd be looking

Hakeem Nicks
Sean Smith
Jarron Gilbert
then if we really want a center (which i'm not sure we do) then Eric Wood is there

I like the pick but Walter football knows nothing.... He always has people sliding way to far I.e CJ Spiller to the. 3rd round. CJ Spiller is not a 3rd round guy. But normally is top 10 picks are fairly accurate

Couldn't be mad with Mack in the first but I still contend I rather do Center in round 2 if we go that route.

Mack or Unger would be great at 2A.

I agree, but I don't think that either will slide that far. Mack seems like a good, solid choice at #25 with Satele sliding to G. I still like Mack and Harvin at #25, maybe Britton. At #44 I like Nicks and William Moore, who is slipping. I'm curious as to how high Nicks will go, and Antoinne Caldwell still has my attention. At #55 I wonder about the guy CK has been mentioning, DT/DE Jarron Gilbert.

There's only like 5 to choose from... Caldwell, Unger mack Luigis and Wood... They may all be available in the second round

We don't have the #55 pick, we have the #57 pick. JFYI

Same here, but you've to consider that there's several teams in need of a C between pick #25 and pick #44, those being Indianapolis and Arizona in the back of the 1st round, Cincinnati desperately at the beginning of round 2, so it wouldn't surprise me if Mack and Unger are both gone by pick #44 if we don't take one at the 25th spot.
