Different type receivers, but there are some similarities. Paul Warfield was as much a factor in the Dolphins dominant running game as Larry Csonka, Larry Little, Jim Langer etc. Warfield demanded attention from the opposition and nobody could cover him. He may have been the best player on that team and one of the best receivers of his generation. If Warfield played today, and on a passing team, his numbers would be sick. I'm not saying Ted Ginn Jr. is a Paul Warfield, but he has the type of rare speed that has to be accounted for on every play. Safeties won't be able to cheat up to stop the run and just watch the running lanes Ronnie Brown will have this year. I'll admit I wasn't 100 percent sold on the pick, but I do like the positives he can add to this offense. And he seems like a player who will work hard to improve, not to mention he is versatile having spent time at corner. I haven't even mentioned field position. Miami should win this battle 70 percent of the time and we may see the "directional" punting game resurface as teams attempt to kick away from Ginn. The Dolphins got a heck of a lot more exciting with this pick.
