Was anybody else screaming "DON'T BLITZ!" on the 99 yarder?

No, it was the right call. We were desperate for a safety (maybe a hold in the endzone), a tipped pass, sack/fumble, etc. We just missed out on 6, so we had to try to get one on D.

You expected that worthless defense to actually do something when it counted, when they couldn't do that the entire game. That outcome pissed me off, but was totally expected. GD, I hate this bullsiht.

I will say one thing, Henne looks fukcing good. I hope Nolan gets his siht together. UGH!!!

So you weren't concerned that the best quarterback in the league wouldn't have a field day with his pick of uncovered receivers?

Makes sense.

He was having his pick regardless. We were holding half of the guys that blitzed back in coverage and still Brady had a hard time not finding wide open receivers.

You can't act like we were stopping them at any point when we weren't blitzing, so I see no problem in gambling on a blitz that had a good chance of paying huge dividends in shifting the momentum back towards us after we pretty much lost it the play before.

they probably shouldnt have done like a full on blitz but i definitely would have felt more comfortable with it with both vontae and smith in there.

No......
but the entire preseason I was screaming CUT SAPP and last week I was screaming sign meriweather..... but thats just me

I would agree with you if the play did in fact have a good chance of paying huge dividends. It didn't. Once the Patriots lined up empty, the Dolphins should've backed off their blitz. Welker said this morning (or last night) he knew he was getting the ball once he saw the coverage. It was obvious to everybody except for the Dolphins.

Blitzing didn't work all night. Playing defense may have worked. Welker is not a deep threat and never has been. He was catching nickel-and-dime passes all night except for that one because that's what he does. You can cover their receivers. They have a small and quick (not fast) white guy with good hands and two past-their-prime receivers. Even Miami's terrible secondary can cover them. The tight ends were the real problem, not the receivers.

I am just wondering why we didnt fake any blitzes? Every time we showed blitz, we blitz...you cant do that today with Brady and other good qb's
