Curious to hear if anyone else thought Bess was open on the last play or was it the camera angle?

He was open down the sideline till about the 5 yardline. Hard to tell though because Indy had 8 guys in the endzone. If he was thrown to he would have had to break a tackle or 2. My question is with a jump ball type play why was Micheal Turner not in he is 6"4?

He was a lot more open than Brian Hartline.

What I am hoping for is that Henne will come in soon and then at the end of the game like that we can run a 35 yard comeback route. Bess goes all the way to the endzone then turns back and comes towards the sideline and Henne rifles it in there out of bounds and Bess keeping 2 feet in and catching the ball.

Patrick Turner was inactive.

The football was already thrown....it appeared he was open behind the defenders...but in reality....it was too late....your not going to beat 6 defenders....thats why they call it a HAIL MARY!!

bess was open and could've gotten out of bounds to boot if the ball was led in front of him properly but clockington was eyeballing ginn the entire time and winding up his noodle.

Moreso than hartline anyway....doesn't matter. Thats a deep sideline back shoulder throw....Pennington doesn't make those throws.

Would it be a Hail Mary for any other QB besides Pennington?

Since when is it a Hail Mary from the 30 yard line?

Bess came open AFTER the ball was in the air and the defenders went over to defend the pass.

Doesn't matter what yard line they were on. All of the defenders were in the endzone for a jump ball. That is what a hail mary is. There is no magical yard marker that makes a hail mary play.

I don't care if it's 30 yds, 40 yds or 50 yds....there's 8 players defending that throw...it rarely works....it's called Hail Mary Because it's a pray that it will work.

Clockington was eyeballing Ginn the entire time and winding up his noodle lmao. Good one 72
