he had one heck of a rookie season.....

but i have to go with an more unknown QB.... BANE!!!

How about these stats from Matt Ryan !!!
16 TD
11INT
Rating - 87.7
Yds - 3440

Ben's rookie season consisted of him handing the ball off, going to his first read or throwing it away or taking a sack, and watching his defense play well. He didn't try to do too much, and that's really the best thing you could say for him.

Dan Marino, easily, had the best rookie season of any QB.

Dan started in the Pro Bowl, and Big Ben didn't make the Pro Bowl. Whagt more do we need to know?

You can make an argument for Big Ben, but then again he did have a solid running game.

Marino was probably the best rookie QB as a player. But certainly the success of Ben's rookie year can't be duplicated. The Steelers went 15-1 and went all the way to the AFC title game. Marino lost in the first round to the damn Seahawks.

When Dan was a rookie, other teams had to gameplan for Dan.
Big Ben was asked just to manage the game and not do nothing stupid.
Dan was asked to win games as a rookie.
Dan>Ben......period.

Not really in the Marino zone, but not bad. Let us not forget though, Ryan benefitted from a very good running game, everyone knew what Miami was going to do on Offense in Marino's rookie season...YET could not stop him.

I think Ryan deserves to be in he discussion. MArino and Rothboth had better teams already around them.

In seven less games, Marino had 25% more TD's then Ryan. Marino did what he did when defensive players were actually allowed to hit the QB, and the WR for that matter.

What Marino did is way better than Matt Ryan's rookie year

Dan Marino is the greatest ever. No contest at all. You would never see anyone second guess his greatness if he had a ring(god I hate when people throw that at you). It seems like that is the only arguement that anyone ever throws at you when you get into a conversation like that with someone. (Trust me, my brother is a 49ers fan.) But he is the best ever to play the game at QB hands down in my eye. He did not have a team built around him that all of these other Quarterbacks had.

He also didn't get to play like 10 games a year indoors like Matt Ryan, in perfect conditions. Which was eventually his downfall because the Dolphins offense really sputtered in the rainy Orange Bowl against the Seahawks.
